Love Roomba, hate short life span

I can get only about six to eight months of every-other day use. I am on my third battery and I hate how I could have just bought a newer version of the Roomba by now. I do love the vacuum though. I have an older Discovery series, and we love it.
Pros: It's yellow
Cons: Expensive Short life, Pricey / Poor Value

Good Robot, poor battery

Roomba is a good vacuum for busy people. Not a week goes without being used for sweeping kitchen and carpets. It is durable, has lasted over 2.5 years. Cleans unders the couch and mattresses. However battery life is limited to 1 year or less. Battery is expensive. The battery life becomes shorter and shorter over the period of 1 year.
Pros: Durable
Cons: Pricey / Poor Value

I bought the Scheduler with this battery 4+ years ago. The first battery lasted 18 months. The second battery lasted 12 months. The third battery lasted 9 months...my fourth battery lasted 6 months before losing power within 30 minutes. I thoroughly clean the iRobot after each use.iRobot has reduced their battery warranty, by the way, from one year to six months. It's so painfully obvious why they've done that. Their batteries last less long (how is that possible) than they used to....and, if you reduced the warranty time, people will get less upset when the battery dies after 13 months (only one month past a 12 month warranty) vs. 7 months past a 6 month warranty. It's just smoke and mirrors.For $200-500 on a new unit, plus [$] per year in batteries, filters, and other parts to upkeep....as convenient and great as the irobot is....Worth it? Don't think so. iRobot, you know this isn't a new issue. How is the general public so unaware of your poor battery life?
Cons: Inconsistent Performance, Short Life

Why aren't you doing something about the battery life or the replacement cost?there is no way I will keep on buying this lousy battery that doesn't hold up even a year. If I do not get a reasonable answer, only thing I canj do is continuous and relentless campaign against your otherwise great product. Either lower the price of replacement battery or make it last longer!

Love my roomba. Battery dies in 1 yr

I have muscle and neural damage and can't push or pull a regular vacuum. I love it. Except for the cost of the battery. It wouldn't be so bad if it lasted for more than one year. I cannot afford a new one.
Pros: G it, I don't hurt myself, I'm disabled, Itworks without me pushin, Vacuuming
Cons: Battery dead at 1yr, Battery too expensive, Cannot afford it

It runs out on me

I use it in the kitchen/Family Room where I have all creamic tile floors and it does a great job until the battery runs out! Very handy to clean up after the great-grandsons have been here for dinner.
Pros: Durable

every time I order a battery it has a shorter and shorter life span. the battery is a piece of junk and a good way to rip off customers.

seem like over time some improvements should have been made to the battery none made so I would not recommend any of the roomba systems to any one.
