My experience with it.

Not great ...the battery does NOT last long.. First one that came with it lasted about 5 yrs. Then the new 2nd battery only lasted barely 2 years! Too expensive to repair.. (I Spent well over $125. in the last 2 years on it for parts) Still NOT working at all! I now use a Dyson upright. I am 74 years old , have had a few good vacuums.
Cons: Short Life

Battery lousy

I used to use this to clean my house from dog hair. It worked great at first until one day the battery would not hold a charge. I paid almost $300 for this unit. Batteries in cordless drills last longer then this battery did.
Pros: Cleans while your away
Cons: Charges slowly, Short Life

When the battery was new it would clean two to three average sized rooms before recharging. Over several months,the battery could only hold a charge to clean one room at a time. When on the charger the red light would flash showing the unit was charging and turn green after several hours but the cleaner would stop after a few minutes and flash red again. This is the second IRobot that I have this same problem with. Battery just cant handle the power the unit needs to operate. Paying [$] for a battery after buying unit for 250.00 isnt worth it.
Pros: Easy To Clean
Cons: Battery weak

Comments on the battery are overwhelmiingly price related. Online elsewhere there are are much lower priced choices and most likely of lesser quality. They are probably imported clones, notably from Asia where copying is not criminal. Do a web search. I am trying one myself.

Anyone want to buy a Roomba W/O battery?

The unit worked good for the first battery..... then...well, you can read all the reviews about Roomba batteries for yourself. I also had a problem with the unit jerking and backing up instead of moving forward. After reprogramming with the little unit they sent it still hasn't worked like it should. The unit is out of warranty and I will not buy another Roomba or an I-Robot product until the accessories prices come WAY DOWN! Hint, Hint i-Robot! (but it looks like all the reviews have fallen on deaf ears!)<--look at dates reviews started.
Cons: Bat life long as warranty, Lacks Power, Only 6 months, Short Life, You pay armleg for batt

My favorite use is under dining room table after grandchildren. Good for laminate flooring.

Lasted 3 months before they died

This is the third Roomba OEM battery I've purchased. Each one lasted only 3 months before it stopped taking a charge. My Roomba cleans 3 rooms (about 150 sq ft each) twice a week. At [$] per battery for 3 months use, that's [$] per year. I don't think it's worth it. BTW, I tried using a new Roomba OEM charger on one of the new batteries to see if it would last longer but it didn't seem to make a difference. (If anything, it seemed to kill the battery faster.) I then tried a another battery on a second Roomba (same model) back on the original charger and it still only lasted 3 months. So I don't think it was the charger or the Roomba; as to be the batteries.Love the Roomba though. Maybe I'll try an aftermarket battery.
