I have 4 roombas in my home but I can't use even one of them. The batteries will not charge/stay charged. I have a large box of expensive, short life, useless batteries. I love the roomba but the battery is truly a rip-off. I will never buy another expensive roomba that I can't use.
Cons: Pricey / Poor Value, Short Life

Battery Life Abysmal

The battery life is terrible. It's kind of like a Nickel Cadmium (NICAD), in that the battery seems to have a memory, and if you constantly recharge after each use, or let the battery sit idle for an extended period, it losses it's ability to hold a charge. The Roomba without a battery that holds a charge is like a car that has a 1 gallon tank. It will get you to work and then you have a problem. Because of the battery life, you can start a job, but better have another vacuum cleaner standing-by.
Pros: Fast Charge
Cons: Lacks Power, Short Life

Worst Battery EVER!

What does it take for iRobot to get a decent, long-lasting battery that fits units that they've sold in the past 2 years. (I notice their new Roombas have a different battery). Apparently they have not read any of these reviews! My 3rd battery for my scheduler has now gone bad and at [...], so should I order a 4th? I paid so much for the Roomba that I can't imagine just saying the hell with it and trashing it because they can't produce a reliable battery... which is what they are counting on, I guess. I love the Roomba, but come on guys, get with the program and sell a decent battery. My Electrolux is still going after almost 20 years and at this rate the Roomba will out-cost that vacuum by far! OH, BY THE WAY, EVEN WHEN NEW... IT ONLY VACUUMS ONE ROOM, NOT 4, BEFORE IT NEEDS RECHARGING! Unless your rooms are really 4 closets. haha... well, I'm not really laughing now that I have to spend more $$.

Love my iRobots, hate the battery life

I have (2) Dicovery Robots and a Scooba Robot for our pool. I wouldn't want to be without them because they have given me time to do other things. Periodically--maybe every 3 months-- I use the traditional vacuums to do a very thorough cleaning on the carpets. I use my robot on the hardwood floors daily and in the bedroom areas weekly. Wonderful

I see many unhappy ppl, complain about the battery, yes they should have fixed this issue but if you have had it under 1 year, they will send you a new battery , FREE!!!!! I called on a Saturday, given instructions over the phone and also sent me an email. when I followed directions to reset the battery and still , was not holding a charge, I left a message on Sunday, and Monday, received an email, that a brand new batter was on its way, and to expect it from 5-7 days, this is excellent customer service, I also purchased an extended warrenty, cost was cheap and goes into effect after the manufactur's 1 year warranty ends. very happy I did this, as I am ADDICTED TO THIS GUY, HAVE EVEN NAMED IT, LOL

Cons: Inconsistent Performance, Lacks Power, Short Life
