Great Features!

I purchased a Whirlpool upright stainless steel freezer recently. I wish I would have done this years earlier. The 4 interior shelves & 2 large baskets helps me keep food items organized. Lots of additional storage in the 6 adjustable bins on door. Very happy with this purchase.

I bought a pair of sidekicks in 07 fell in love with them. I started having problems with the refrigerator in may of 2013 had two repair men out one tried to fix the other told me the bill was going to be more then a new one. Well I checked into a new one and he was right it was more to fix then a new one. However the design changed since 07 and that meant that I had to buy a new freezer also! So it cost me way way more then a new one but I wasnt going to have a miss matched pair in my kitchen. I do love the space thats for sure but not sure if we build again if I will go with these two units.Sure hope I have better luck with the new units then I did the old ones

I bought this a month ago to replace a freezer that was going out on us after only 6 years. This Whirlpool was a returned special order, so we got a real good price (less than half of MSRP) and the store threw in free delivery. Since it sits in our utility room between our kitchen and garage, noise is not a concern, but I didn't think it was any noisier compared to other freezers of other brands I've owned, anyway.I particularly like having removable and adjustable shelves, both in the main body and in the door. While I like the door bins, I dislike all the wasted space in the door. One can buy more door bins, but at $40 each, I won't bother. Each bin holds only four packages of lunchmeat, such as 16 oz. cotto salami, or other things of similar footprint. The unit came with six bins for the door, but I could probably fit four more bins in the door to hold the lunchmeat and such. With full-width shelves in the door, instead of the split down the middle, I could put about 20 percent more without adding bins. With one or two more adjustable shelves in place of the bins, I could add that much more. I could always remove bins or shelves to accommodate larger or taller items, but it's expensive to add bins or shelves for more storage.The unit control seems to be quite basic. My previous freezer had electronic controls with LED readouts, but this has a dial with markings on it, just like a freezer I had 40 years ago.For the first few days after we reloaded the freezer, it seemed to be running all the time, but that might have been just my timing in passing through. Since about a week after installation, though, it has obviously shutting off occasionally, as we'd expect.Without this Whirlpool EV188NYWQ02 being on mark-down, I would not have bought it, and I wouldn't suggest for anybody to buy one at regular retail. At the price I got it, though, I would buy it again.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Lots of space

I bought the Whirlpool Sidekicks. They are a separate fridge and freezer. They come together with a trim package. I love them. Lots of room in both. You can actually find things you are looking for. I would recommend them to anyone.

Nice oven but can't be cleaned.

The lower door has openings to allow to air to escape. Unfortunately, this also allows spills to enter between the glass panes on the door. After three months the door looks filthy. I contacted Whirlpool regarding how to clean this and I was advised that I needed to have a service tech come out to clean my door. It is considered a "cosmetic" problem and is not covered under warranty. There is no way to avoid normal spills when using the oven. While I do like the double oven feature, it's not worth it to have my oven looking like I haven't wiped the door down, even though it was just cleaned. I was very excited when I purchased this very expensive oven and I'm sorry I wasted my money.

Love the double oven

We bought this a year ago. My hubby did alot of research into what we wanted in a range. There is only the 2 of us so the small upper oven comes in very handy. On the holidays it's great because I have room to use both ovens. The stovetopss have different heat settings and they can boil water for pasta really quickly. The stovetop is a little difficul to keep shiny.
