Looks are only Skin deep

I bought this with the matching fridge 8 months ago and the trim kit to finish the look of my new kitchen. The unit broke after 7 months and now has broken again 1 month later. I have lost 2 freezer full of food. The first time the tech cam out after I explained what was wrong needed to order a part a take 2 weeks to get it.My problem is how do I get faith back in whirlpool once they fix it. so I can put food in the freezer and not worry I am going to loose it again.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Needed a companion freezer that would look well in the kitchen - an after thought after new kitchen was installed the sleek lines are easy to work with and can be compatible to other models of stainless other than whirlpool

I bought this three months ago to go into my new $50000 kitchen. It looks great next to my high gloss cabinets and next to the Sidekick wirlpool fridge. the counter depth is a great feature. The unit does not stick out past my kitchen cabinets.The two pieces look like one large expensive commercial unit. It gets a lot colder then a fridge/freeze. If I need to cool beer I have really cold beer in less then 20 min. also I added the ice maker, really easy to install. The unit is very spacious with its 18 cu.ft. Storing a month worth of food and there is still plenty of space left for other things. Great unit!

The Whirlpool sidekick is the second set I have purchased. When we remodeled our kitchen in 2002 we found the Sidekicks and they were the perfect solution for our refrigerator/freezer needs. We have a big family and the capacity along with the open shelves accommodated large items very well. When positioned side by side they are a very attractive unit. It was the first time that I have ever received compliments on appliances.

Bought this a month and am very happy so far. The one it replaced was a manual defrost and this is great without the ice build up. Also love the stainless steel!!!
