Still an Excellent Product

I have used a previous model of XS1000 for 7 years. Replaced the battery once. An overload finally took that one out last week. Still needed the same power rating as before and the newer XS1000 was the obvious choice for me.
I like its new features with the LCD screen for immediate info. I like the lower profile to fit under an open shelf and the black color to hide the plastic's yellowing as it ages. Using Powerchute, the UPS is easy to configure. I have great confidence in this product as it will protect my computer system and other goodies for years to come.
Very competitive pricing and of High quality. Excellent Product!

Long Battery Life, Needs More Odd Sized Outlets

Nice, Loooong battery life! And while there were not that many to choose from, Fry's Electronics is at fault for that, not APC, (Guess that tells ya how good APC is, they were nearly sold out!). Then, I found this beauty! It has great battery life, and its got several outlets! But, it could have 1 or 2 more odd size outlets. I currently covered one of the battery backed outlets because of the lack of a 2nd one. other than that, I like the fact that it stands up, which makes it that much better in terms of space o the floor, and the fact that I don't hit my foot on this one like I used to do with my back-ups 750! Anyway, if I have any problems down the line, I will let everybody know!

Back-UPS XS 1000

I bought two units of this in couple days ago. it arrive and in perfect condition. it was really easy to setup. it took only 20 minutes of each to setup in my personnal network. it runs really great. i really impress the quality of the APC Back-up power.

Good Catch

I'm using this device as a backup battery for the electronic controller of a new tankless water heater system.
When I first plugged it in, I noticed an error indication on the rear panel for the outlet; after checking it and others in the basement area, I discovered that FIVE outlets were miswired (hot and neutral was reversed). I repaired all of them today and am sure glad the unit let me know there was a problem!

Good visual design, slim profile.
Does exactly what it does. Provided software (PowerChute Personal Edition) also useful for power useage analytics purpose.
Only wish it also have AVR for over voltage protection.

Over a decade with APC

We bought our first two APC Back-UPS Pro 500's back in August 1999. They have been in continuous use, except for battery replacement, since then. The batteries last about 3 years between replacements. The UPS themselves just keep on working. That is why when we got a newer PC with power demands greater than the 300watt Back-UPS Pro 500, we chose the APC Back-UPS XS1000.
I love the front panel display that my old UPS didn't have.
I would recommend APC products to any of my friends for reliability, price, and features.
