Nice but...

The one thing I don't like about this unit is the layout. All the plugs go in the back so I have to get down on the floor with a flashlight to see what I'm doing. I prefer units with plugs in the top so it's easier to plug/unplug things.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I'm only on day one, but am very impressed with this next generation of ups! I turn off my monitors and the ups lcd display dynamically changes the ammount of time the battery could run the system for! What a wonderful tool when you loose power in the middle of a render!
You get to see a lot more than what the photo shows! stats on voltage, battery, how many outages, what percentage of capacity is being used, battery runtime.....
Great sleek design that actually fits! -and not too heavy considering.
**finally, the battery install on first use was the easiest ever! just slides in! no clunky wires like my old ones!
Good going APC! Keep em going!

Battery's Leaked over floor

This unit was a replacement to my last APC BACKUP. It is not 3 yrs old and the battery was not charging and when I moved it, my oak parquet floor was eaten to the sub floor by battery acid. When I removed one the battery there was a crack on top. Up till now it was a good protector/back up. But who needs this damage!
Hoping company will make it right. If so I will change my rating.

brought in July 2010, so far it seems to work just fine, is nice to have a LCD that can tell you how much time is left, load percentage, and events. previous size was a 600W unit, but due to older 350W unit died, replace old unit with another brand to keep power to VCR. I like the idea that it can run my modem while the power is off, which is often in my area, and with laptop on batteries, can be in dark for hours, but still have use of computers. naturally keeps hardware protected from surges and brownouts as well.
I would recommend this to a friend!

This unit handles all my needs. It is protecting a iMac 27 i5, second monitor, MacBook Pro 15" 2.5ghz, Apple Time Capsule, Apple Airport Extreme, 2 iPhones and cable modem.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I bought this model over 6 years ago and have never had a problem. I bought this replacement because I couldn't wait for replacement batteries to arrive. Will probably update the old one for the wife, there is plenty of life in that unit.
