Different, but effective

It's pretty impressive what this machine can do with so little. It seems to use next to no water or detergent but everything comes out very clean and fresh. The drying has taken some getting used to and finessing. It does take a long time and some things (jeans, especially for some reason) come out pretty wrinkled but we knew we'd be making some adjustments with a ventless dryer. It's not the hot and fluffy gas dryer we grew up with. But it's totally adequate for most things and I feel like we are still learning how to get the best results. Overall I think the machine is a great value and I love all the space (and a little money) we saved by not getting two separate units.

i have had for nearly 2 months and have really enjoyed the freedom from having to switch clothes from washer to dryer and then forgetting them etc. this does it all and keeps them rolling until i get to them, minimizing the wrinkles. they come out just damp enough to hang dry and then look great without pressing. i am loving doing laundry for the first time ever...

Fascinating machine

I've just had this for a little over a month but I am just fascinated by the whole experience. I'm still learning my way around it but so far so good. I moved into a house with a laundry room the size of a stamp and a regular w/d would fit but I'd have to stand on something to get stuff out of the washer. I could have got a stackable but there's window and the stackable would have covered the window and that's a 'no no' for me.....so this is how I wound up with this LG. I got the pedestal and that elevates it to a nice height plus the storage capacity of the pedestal is a big help.
I haven't figured out how to turn on the spin sense feature because holding the button down for 3 seconds didn't do it.
I read every review I could get my hands on before I bought this and do plan to get the extended warranty even though I don't anticipate any problems but since I live in a small town I just want the extra protection.
I don't wash large loads and I mix the load with things that need to dry and those that don't because the instructions clearly state that it will only dry half the load you washed. I do use the timed dry feature and do hang the things up after I get them out of the dryer but they feel really dry quickly.
When I first got it, I didn't get the dry thing so just used 'normal' drying and wound up having to hang the whole load out on the line. I couldn't figure out how to 'just dry' - I might know how to do that now tho.
It does take time to do a load but that doesn't matter to me. It's just me & my dog.
I really appreciate the energy saving features - less water and less electric to dry. My old washer used 40+ gallons for one load - yikes - too much water wasted.
I've cleaned the filter once so far and it was easy peasy. I do use baby wipes or damp paper towel after every load to clean door rubber grooves and seal.

I purchased my LG washer/dryer combo unit 6 weeks ago and use it several times a week. I could not be more pleased. The clothes come out very clean and soft. It was exactly the right size for the space in my condo and the extra drawer unit has room for all my laundry supplies plus other cleaning products.
So nice not to have to remove wet clothes from the washer into the dryer plus no longer have the "missing sock" problem.

What a great concept

I love this combo -not only is it a spacesaver - it has been a peacemaker - no more redoing laundry my kids left in the washer or dryer - it took a little bit of change in how we do laundry but just set it on delay - it starts and when i arrive home from work it has completed wash cycle and clothes are dry and ready to hang. Just plug and use. I love the settings and have used them all - clothes come out a bit damp and with a quick shake - they are wrinkle free - fresh and ready to put away . The machine is quite - unlike my old units - and cleaning the lint trap is a breeze. You also need to wipe down the rim to remove any internal lint.

I love this machine. New condo and the association wouldn't allow any change to allow for dryer venting. This was a perfect solution.

Great product but plan your laundry timing

Not much more to add, just think differently about laundry day! the trade off this product versus conventional, is the savings you'll get on space and water use versus speed of drying, so plan laundry day.
The other real difference is how gently this machine treats your cloths.
We love everything about this and rally take pleasure in using this washer/dryer.
Keep it clean check for lint regularly.

Just what a busy household needs

I was originally hesitant - but read a lot of reviews - the main theme was that you need to read the instructions and use some sense when getting the best out of the machine. Great washes, drying just enough to avoid creasing - no need to watch for it to finish to switch to the drying cycle - the way I installed it was in its own small laundry room between all three bedrooms - 1 medium load at night 2 or 3 times a week, bedding and towels at weekends and the laundry hamper never overflows. The drying cycle warms the room where the wire shelving that I installed allows the warm air to warm the towels and sheets in our new linen cupboard!
I haven't figured out how to use the dryer without a wash or rinse cycle - but that is the only thing that I can criticize the machine about, which is not much. It is generally quiet and not needing to install gas or a vent saved a ton of time and money in the upstairs laundry project, I look forward to many years of labor saved by this machine,....
