problem after 1 year

Nothing but problems! After 1 year had to replace water pump and drain hose. Water pump "popped" out of it's housing and drain hose cracked at the elbow into the unit. Both repairs were after the manufacturer warranty had expired. Purchased unit based on limited space within our home. Should have went with another manufacturer.
I will never purchase another LG appliance again!

I was more than satisfied after installing the combo unit. Having had experience with such devices while stationed overseas and knowing that traditional washing chores need adjustment with such a washer/dryer combo I was not surprised at all. What did surprise me was the ease of understanding the machine and enjoying the fine details. It washes great, the dryer function works great and although you must lighten the load from washing to drying it is something I am used to. The fact that it is so compact makes it a fantastic space saver in the small abode. I would highly recommend this machine to anyone wishing to save space and time. LG has produced a fine machine and I tip my hat.

Great Product

I've heard a lot of complaints about this machine. But, they are not true, as long as you can read and follow the directions. You need to balance the machine and clean out the pump filter. Other than that clothes come out cleaner and dry. It uses half the electricity and water. I tell everyone I know about it.
Pros: Performance

This is the best washer and dryer I have ever used

With limited space, we were restricted in what we could get to replace the former stackable system. I knew two households that had LG washers and dryers and was able to see them in action. Then when we needed to replace our machines, I did quite a bit of research and read reviews paying attention to the reviewers who said if you follow the directions on how to use the LG combo, you will be very pleased. I am and actually look forward to doing laundry. The combo is a fantastic machine, and the clothes come out beautifully.

Better than Expected

Tub light goes off while I'm reviewing the Cycle.
Back-and-Forth with rest breaks is good for a washing but it does the same thing during Dry. Toss and Flop Down, makes more wrinkles I think.
Very satisfied overall. A nearly stupendous product. Can't wait for a Vented Version.
Pros: Performance, Style/Design, easy to use, Features/Settings, Quality, tub light

This product fills my need for a washer/dryer comb

The washer/dryer combo seems well constructed. It is the only appliance I could use in my apartment. It does a good job of cleaning the clothes in a reasonable amount of time with many cycles to select from. My complaint is the amount of time it takes to dry the clothes. I find that I have to put in a minimal amount of clothes and drying takes too long and often I have to add an additional 30 minutes after the drying has finished to get the clothes dry after shaking them out.
I clean the filter and drain the water every two weeks, but I am in my late 60's and have trouble bending down that far to do this. I have to get my daughter to come over to drain and clean the vent.
This appliance allows me to wash and dry in the apt without going to the laundry, it just takes a long time to do one load. I can't imagine how a family of 3 or more can do this with this machine especially if both parents work outside of the house.
Pros: Features/Settings

Warning; DO NOT BUY THIS MACHINE!!!!

My husband and I purchased the WM3987, exactly 1 year ago today, and it has broken down 5 times!!
We have 4 children, and I am stay at home mom. We live on a modest budget, with little time for laundry. We were so excited to get this machine, as we hoped it would save us time. In theory, this washer is a great machine. But the reality is, LG didn't seem to take common sense into consideration. First of all, learn LG's definition of a normal load. Because if you are used to doing average sized loads, plan on your laundry taking 4 to 5 hours to complete. We did take into consideration the fact that this machine would take longer to complete a "normal" load of laundry, but we didn't consider the machine would break down 5 times in one year! I am not exaggerating, this machine has broken down 5 times. 3 times the pump went out, 1 time the noise filter went out and the fifth time the board burnt up. And to add insult to injury; it takes a minimum of 7-8 days to have it repaired. the first time the pump went out, we talked to LG and they said they would get someone out to our house to fix it. 2 weeks went by, and they still couldn't find a repair person to fix it. When someone did finally show up, they didn't have the right part to fix our machine. Every time it breaks down, we have to jump through hoops to get LG to fix it. Now that the warranty is out, we will have to pay 50 dollars an hour, plus parts to get this worthless machine fixed.
Please do yourself a favor and don't buy LG. Trust me, this machine has caused me so much undue stress, I wish we never bought it!!!
Pros: junk, breaks down all the time, lg blows
