Great concept

Great washing results, while using little water. The drying is surprisingly effective. The whole cycle may take 5 hours or more, so one should use it when time is of no importance. If one needs a faster drying time, and has a place for a separate dryer, one SHOULD NOT BUY THIS UNIT! This unit was designed SPECIFICALLY for people who have no room for 2 units and cannot run a vent.
Pros: easy to use, Features/Settings, Quality, ventless, uses 110v!!!
I would recommend this to a friend!

Mediocre and Breaks Down Repeatedly

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When it works I have to run the dry cycle multiple times on relatively light loads to go things dry.
I've also had it break down the separate times and need repairs.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

unconventional, yet easy to use and great features

I was a little worried about getting this model at first, since all the reviews talked about the long drying time. But after having bought it for its space-saving and energy-saving features, it being an all-in-one washer and dryer, I am happy to report that I am in no way inconvenienced by the drying method, and in fact, find that clothes seem cleaner and softer when done. One common complaint is that because the machine doesn't throw hot air around, clothes come out feeling wet still. This I have found to be a non-issue. Though they seem a bit steamy, if you let the machine do its proper cool-down cycle and fluff them a bit before folding, they are in actuality perfectly dry. In addition, we also found that it works better by using the timed dryer setting as opposed to the levels of dryness and setting it ourselves after the wash cycle is fully complete, rather than letter it run through the full wash and dry cycle automatically. (However, this is a great option if you want to do a load while you're sleeping or away from home.) It also seems to cause less wear and damage to the fabrics themselves, although it will probably take another couple months of use to know for sure. But I've already used it for hand washables, delicates, woolens, and dry-clean only items, and it treats all of them well, as long as you use the proper settings and follow the manual. I think this is because t doesn't overspin at high speeds like traditional washers and doesn't expose items to high temperatures like traditional dryers. We also like the functionality and ease of use of all the settings. The machine is super user-friendly and makes a cute little digital song when complete, as opposed to the loud buzzing noise of the old-fashioned dryers. And I can feel good that I'm not using as much water or electricity as I would with a regular machine. Overall, we're very happy with this purchase and would recommend it to anyone looking to save space, water, and energy. One other note: plugs into a regular household electrical outlet, so you don't even have to have a proper laundry room or special area wired for this use. As long as you have access to hot and cold water—such as a bathroom or Kitchen—it's good to go!
Pros: Performance, Style/Design, easy to use, Features/Settings, Quality, energy savings, water savings

Best Combo on the Market
on March 8, 2011
Posted by: Terry
The developer of my condo only put in a 110 electrical outlet and no outside venting for the washer and dryer. Therefore, I was limited to only washer/dryer combo units with 110 electric power. I have the smaller unit already in a different apartment and it works well. I expected this larger unit to be even better given that it has more features.
The best part for me is the fact that it is quiet for the most part. The washing is very quiet. Spinning gets a little louder. The drying can get louder with the condensing feature. My unit is in the kitchen which is open to everything so while in the living room, it can be a little annoying.
I did a lot of research on combo units and the LG units are by far the best reviewed units out there. Be forewarned that at times, depending on what you are drying and the quantity of clothes in the drum, it can come out a little damp. Nothing that an hour or so of laying out can't solve. The "more dry" does help on this. If you don't mind having sheets or towels hanging about your home to dry, then it doesn't matter much. When the load is done, the CD (cool down) will be displayed. I realized that if you don't want to wait for it to shut down completely, then just turn the knob and it disappears and unlocks.
I tend to hang dry about 50% of my clothes anyway because I don't want it to shrink in the dryer. But by far the best feature is that you can put a load of clothes in when you leave, and when you come home in a few hours or longer, the clothes will be clean and dry.
One thing I did notice is that when I did a wash and dry, the detergent despenser filled out with water. Not sure if this is part of the drying process.
In closing, as someone who owns both this larger combo unit and the smaller one, if you have the room for the larger one, you won't be disappointed with it. Only get the small one if you have space restrictions.
Pros: Performance, Style/Design, easy to use, Features/Settings, Quality

Space Saving Easy Set Up
on September 18, 2011

This washer-dryer combo is the best. It is only a little higher than a single unit with the same footprint. It hooks up to a standard 110 volt, it needs no venting, and after leveling it is ready to go. In less than a half hour of set up you're washing clothes. Program the cycles to wash/dry, walk away, comeback and they are done. If you are cramped for space or want to create some space this is for you. My one complaint is that because of it being a 110 volt unit, it takes a little longer to dry. So, I take my shirts out before they are completely dry and hang them up, so I don't have any wrinkles. However, that is a small price to pay for the convenience and space that is realized by this unit. Top shelf quality, that I would recommend to others.
Pros: Style/Design, easy to use, Features/Settings, Quality
