This printer crashed after 7 months of light use without warning.

No more reliable printers

I hate my Epson workforce 520. First, as soon as the ink is slightly low it stops printing forcing you to put more ink cartridges in. Second, I never print in color but somehow have to keep refilling the color cartridges! Why can't we find a reliable simple printer anymore?

After having the product for a little over a year, we began having ink issues. One being that you can not print in black if color is out and vice versa. Then when all inks were in and new the printer was out of ink in 8 days, and I had not printed one document yet. Since the one year warranty was up, we have no choice but to get it repaired or replace it. Needless to say we will not get it repaired if it costs the same as a new one, and the new one will not be an epson.

Workforce 520 is the least expensive workhorse for home/office application w/inexpensive inks that last. Unit works like a charm, kudos to engineering & production team for a well designed problem free workhorse.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Buy other Epson printers.

If you are looking for a printer do not get an Epson Workforce520 All in one printer. I have been buying Epson printers for a while and this is the first printer I have not been satisfied with. I bought it on January 1, 2011. And from the time I started using it it has not been the best. It prints crooked and the ink drips.i did all the test that I was told to do and nothing worked. And the factory warranty is not fair. It starts from the time the printer is built. I should start from the time you buy it. It feels like it is built cheaply. I would buy other Epson printers but not this one.

Not all that great

I got this thinking it would be perfect for school. But a few months into owning this i realized it isn't perfect for anything. I will say scanning is pretty simple and works well. As for a printer i would look elsewhere. If any of the ink is out you cannot use any functions until it is replaced. This is extremely annoying. It printed well the first probably 50 or so times. Now I find it hard to print anything at home. The quality of the print is horrible and most times all I get is ink streak marks down the page.

This printer was awesome while it lasted. Problem was it only lasted 3 weeks and then it broke while printing. Couldn't find my receipt sadly.
