Easy to Use

This All-in-One printer was very easy to hook-up. The built in colour screen is clear and readable. I didn't even have to read the manual to set up the wireless (very cool) network connection. The printer quickly searched and found my network in seconds and I did the couple of other things required and it was done. I hooked up two of my computers in about 15 minutes with no wires involved. The wireless option was worth the price of the printer, but it also scans and copies. I have had other wired all in ones, but I stopped using them because I had no room in my small home office for the printer; now I have the printer in a separate room and I didn't have to drill any holes or feed it any wires. Perfect. I know it has a secure connection on my network, so I don't have to worry about picking up any other signals.
I noticed that the Epson Stylus NX420 All-in-One Printer is quiet too. Sometimes I will hit print and listen for the printer, but if I miss the first click of it's movements, I am not sure that it printed; I go check and there's my document--printed just how it should be.
For the price of this machine, I am very happy. It has a full range of colour, the print is clear, it copies, it scans, it is wireless (or wired if you so choose), it has a cool coloured outer shell, it's quiet, the ink comes in four separate containers. If you run out of one colour, change that one colour instead of the one cartridge that contains all the colours (my other one was like that). This printer is small too. The card slot for photo printing is very useful for me because I have the printer in a separate room and I don't like going back and forth.
Over all, I have not had any negative issues with the NX420 so I recommend it for use in a home or small office. Cheers.

I had installed - removed - installed - removed - installed the ink cartridges and I still can get the printer to see them. I'm setting up the printer -- 2 hours - no luck -- I might return it.

The epson NX 420 is an exellent printer it has really good photo quality and really good text quality as well i reccemend this to anyone who doesn't wanna spend a whole of money on a printer but still wants a good quality printer when you bring it home and print out of the box its quiet but if you go into the propeties menu you can make it quieter it just takes a smigen longer to print not really that noticable does pretty good on the ink as well even if you print a photo but remember when printing photos any printer will use a good amount of ink the wireless function is really handy i liie the fact of not having to plug in wires the wireless setup was easy too the printer found my network all i had to do was input my password and then it was connected after that just made sure that the printing heads were aligned and away i went so all in all this is a really good printer im really happy with it thanks epson for a really good product
ps. the ink is cheaper if you buy it from epsons website you only need to wait about a week depending where you live but its a minor inconvience especially to save money...:)

good for average printing

I picked up this printer for half its normal selling price and for the price I got it for, it truly is a good buy. I was skeptical about installing a wireless printer onto my network, but Epson's instructions made it a breeze. Within 20 minutes, I had the printer out of the box, installed, and networked. The 1.5" LCD screen is convenient for printing, scanning, and copying without having to use the computer. The memory card slot allows for printing straight from a memory card without using a computer. The menu has a lot of options to adjust for your own personal preferences.
The only complaints I have with the NX420 is that the photo quality is not as good as my old printer (over 9 years old). I printed a photo with the best qualities available on both printers, and the older printer photo quality is light years ahead of the Epson NX420. The printing speed for high quality photos on the NX420 is also very slow, much slower than the older printer. I also felt like the paper dispensing tray was a little cheaply made; feels like it would be rather easy to break.
All in all, the Epson NX420 is great printer for anyone who wants a good quality all-in-one printer for a good price, but who are not concerned about the best photo quality printing available.

This printer replaces a printer from the supplier of my computer that was less than three years old. The epson looks good on my desk and after i discovered the well hidden socket that accepts the cable that connects from The computer I found the operation easy and quick. Unfortunately the printer does not have the capability to copy 35 milimeter color slides. Otherewise I am looking forward to years of service from this Epson.

A good printer at last

In the last year I have bought an HP printer that stopped working. Then I bought an Lexmark printer that had print head problems after 256 copies, often wouldn't connect, and went through ink like mad. I finally bought an Epson and I am so thrilled with this printer. It is dependable and does not drink ink. Beautiful prints also. It is a little noisy.
