Epson NX420

Noisy and the paper feed is a bit wonky.
It can sometime take several attempts loading paper to get the machine to recognize that it is loaded. I have had an occaisonal paper jam which I never had with my old Stylus 720. Reasonable print quality.

Awful Printer with no Workarounds

It's really unfortunate that this printer will not allow you to print black only. So if one of any color is out you're completely dead in the water. Print quality is average to good when it's working properly but has many instances of printing off colors or uneven. It devours ink so stock up. It is easy to set up and works well wirelessly.

NX420 so so

I have had the NX420 for about 2 years and overall it performed as expected for the first year or so. Then at some point printing in black became an issue for an unknown reason. Replaced the cartridges and that helped a bit but printing continued to be very hit and miss; sometimes it would work and other times not at all. Checked alignment and cleaned the print heads several times but no improvement. At this point I plan on replacing the printer since figuring out the problem for certain seems impossible. Given how expensive ink is I would rather just get a new printer than invest more into this device in its current state. I will probably get another Epson printer.

I had this printer for more than 5 years already, and works as a charm still. My son's elementary and middle school projects has come neatly printed from here. My bank and accounts scans goes straight to pdf from here as I scan them.
100% recommend it.

Worst Choice Ever

This is the worst nightmare of a purchase that I ever had. I bought this NX 420 all in one printer and was so happy that it was compatible with Windows 7.
To my dismay, it was NOT! Do not buy this thing if you run Windows 7.
I went along and did everything the manual said, then Iinserted the cd rom for all the drivers. O M G what a mess. First a window pops up that warns me that this software is not supported by my computer. Then the cd does not operate. After a few attempts I go and visit the website of epson and try to download the drivers and software from their site. All of a sudden the download begins but freezes my computer. I shut the computer down, remove any part of the downloaded software and start all over again. To make this nightmare short, I had to return it to Staples where the manager simply nodded and told me : "This is a known issue with Epson, we found out last week, and all Windows7 customers are returning those." So, if you have Windows 7 DO NOT BUY this product.
