NX420 printer

I bought the printer to use to print out emails and notes and got a full fledged printer. The quality of the printing is just great and it really keeps up to the high standardes of the bigger and more expensive Epson printers. A great value.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Unfortunately I have not been able to use this printer's WiFi capability because the setup disk with it came damaged. I really need a wizard to get me started, so it is collecting dust.

First day setup and trial runs

I don't have much experience with the printer yet but I found it very easy to set up. The printed instructions are complete and easy to follow and the CD does what it is supposed to do. Everything is working fine. My last experience with a much more expensive printer was not good and I continued to have problems for the five years I kept it. Things are off to a much better start with the Epson Stylus printer.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Surprised that it is recommended by Apple

The printer is great for the computers that can print to it; however, it only works with two of my Apple computers. There seems to be no way to get my Air that runs Mac OS X 10.5.8 to print directly to this machine. There is no help at the Apple website, and no help at the Epson website.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Printer Installation

I have not been able to install this printer to a brand new computer. It tells me that this version of Windows is not supported!! I have Windows 7 Professional. It is a bit ridiculous that the outside box and installation disk both say it is compatible with Windows 7 yet it will not install on my version??

I grabbed this unit when it was on sale just before Christmas. I didn't expect it to arrive before Christmas but it did. It shipped in the manufacturers carton and arrived unscathed. This is not plug and play but worked fine after installing the drivers on several computers I own. I placed it in a separate room using WiFi for the connection and did all the setup from the panel on the device. It supports USB but I never used it. It is ideal for a separate room as copies can be done off-line as well as printing pictures from the included SD card reader built in.
Scans can even be initiated from the printer and it will ask you which computer to send them to. They are very high quality. The printer comes with small print cartridges but larger capacity ones can be purchased. It uses ink from the original cartridges to charge the print tubing as part of setup so don't expect too many pages. It needs 4 cartridges and won't work if any are empty.
I would recommend it for home use.

I just set up my printer today and had no problems at all. I connected it to my laptop which is connected to a wireless connection and the step by step instructions were easy to follow. I have only printed out about 10 pages so far but the print quality is excellent. My experiences with this printer so far have been excellent.
I would recommend this to a friend!
