It's light, it's small for what it is does, and it's got quality in use. I did stumble over the set up and install; that takes a while to be done just so, and officious MSW insists on taking over part of the way through. But a little patience (about 30 minutes worth) and there I was with a new network printer, doing the Epson quality of output thing. At half the weight, a quarter the price and pleasure in reading and viewing. I like good typography!

Overall This is a really good Printer... The wireless feature worked well with my Mac (Running Snow Leopard) and it was easy to set up . The only thing about the Printer that I don't like is there are 4 Ink wells and the print Speed on things that are not just Black and white are somewhat slow. otherwise this is a Great Printer

Good entry level machine

Easy to set up (I have a MAC).
The machine is unexpectedly loud, the scanner is great, speed is fine. The paper feed is quirky, I just switced to a lighter paper and that seemed to solve the problem. I bought this during black friday, so for the price, it's fine. Good for everyday printing.

Why would this thing not print on transparencies? Bummer...I am a graphic artist and my last printer was failing on me, and I found this printer...thought "all-in-one" would include transparencies...guess not

Disappointed in Ink
on December 21, 2010

I am disappointed in the speed the ink output. I've had this for about a week and the black cartrige it came with is already out in just a dozen ebay label print outs. I can find nothing in the settings to reduce it without draft quality which is not clear enough to use for our use.
The scan copy functions are fine. The printouts look great. But for a business machine this isn't practical and I'm disappointed also to be unable to find a 'High Capacity ink' unavailable for this machine on epson's site.
If your doing photography fantastic machine I'm sure but a multifuction I had guessed would be more business related. My old C60 was still going! I have to give them props on their durability.

NX420 all-in-one

I was very excited about a wireless printer at an affordable price. When I set it up, I was concerned that there seemed to be no print setup on the printer. For example, if you wanted to use less ink, you could select a less quality print. There seemed to be nothing of the kind to adjust. I got the printer to scan and print out some school work. Under thirty pages printed and the printer said that the ink was low and needed to be replaced. It doesn't allow you to continue in available colors, it just stops. If you run out of black, your printer AND scanner is out, too. I found that out tonight, knowing I was out of ink, I got all ready to scan old photo albums. The printer wouldn't communicate with the computer because of the error message regarding ink. I wanted to pitch the whole thing into the trash. The pricey ink cartridges for 30 pages of printout doesn't work for me.
