I am a serious Epson user, having used Epson printers for decades. (I have owned over 50 of them) Today's direction of printer design includes scanners. While your scanner's quality is excellent, it doesn't include OCR and saving support for text, rtf, xml, Word, pdf and direct conversion to other supported text/picture formats. When I unpacked the printer, I was dissapointed with this lack of scanning support. I intend to return an Epson printer to my place of purchase for the first time in decades. Get Scan-Soft support for your product line. GET Something!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This is my first Epson product and for a 74 year old man it was the easiest to install of all of my various pieces of equipment.
Hope the ink cost is as good as every thing else.

My family is very happy with our Epson Stylus NX420 printer. It was very easy to install on my laptop as well as my children's netbooks which do not have CD drives. The copies are very clear when using the copier function. Have not used the scanner yet.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great all-in-one product. Installs quick and easily. I have tried several other manufactures and find Espon to be the easiest to use. I love the add on software for photos as well. Shop around for the best price as many vendors carry Epson products. And the wireless feature is great for my laptop.

I like the wireless feature as there are 3 people in the house who own computers. The ink cartridges are less expensive than my old Epson, the print color is sharper, the price was excellent, and the installation was simple.

I bought this Epson because of the Print, Copy, Scan, Photo and WI-FI capabilities. It's everything I need in a printer at an affordable price. The set-up was very easy and the print quality is excellent. I chose to buy another Epson because the previous one lasted over 10 years and three children.

Wifi printer

The Epson NX420 works very well on my Wifi network. I have 2 Macs & a Windows Vista machine that can print to it. It was relatively simple to set up for all 3. All 3 can print & scan wirelessly. The only 1 I have a problem with is when I tried to set it up for the dual boot - Windows - Ubuntu Linux machine. There is no support for Linux yet - that I can find. If you are looking for a Wireless printer/scanner to use with a Mac or a Windows machine, this one sets up & works easily with both. I've used this product over a month, & so far it's been easier to get along with than the one I had connected to a USB port on another router, which you could print to with the Macs, but not scan. The Windows machine would not print reliably to that set-up at all like it does the NX420.
