Epson All-in-one Printer

I like that I can scan, copy and print with it. It prints out, true to color photos. Clear text documents. If one color runs out before another, I can replace that color with a single cartridge, per color. I like the combo pack which gives me all three of the color cartridges plus a black cartridge. If your picture is clear, you will get a clear print-out.

ink levels

My printer works well in every respect EXCEPT that, on my computer screen, the ink levels all show as empty all of the time. In other words there is NO reading for ink levels. And there is no provision for reading for them on the small printer screen through "Set Up".

Only one limitation

I have found this model to be satisfactory for my needs with one exception; I cannot use 4 X 6 Satin finish photo paper. For some reason, the grippers won't grip the paper nor will they grip 8 1/5 X 11 Satin finish. I can only print on 8 1/2 X 11 glossy finish.
I prefer to use Satin finish photo paper.

ONE PROBLEM

Overall the printer does what it is supposed to do.
Print speed is good
Color is good
Easy to operate - removing and inserting ink cartridges took a little practice
MY PROBLEM :It did not stay connected to my Apple Mac wirelessly. It wold connect for a day or so and then disconnect.
I resolved the issue by using a USB cable to connect them.
i would recommend it with the warning that wireless might not work.

NX420 copy quality

Overall a very good. The only complaint I have is that while the copy quality is generally good, it is not consistent and is unpredictable at times as far as as picking up light shading in copying of black and white sketches. Even set for photographs sometimes the lightly shaded areas have no shading on the copy. At other times the copy is acceptable.

I think this printer is quality for price. Its not too loud, not to slow, not blury in any way, the only thing not so wonderful about this printer is the fact it goes through ink much too fast.
But the new ink cartriges are inexpensive... but in the long run with the speed it goes through them, its about the same as any of the higher priced printeres anyway. So if you really dont need to print that much, its a STEAL!!

I have had this printer 4 years and have had no problems! Printing out picture with great quality and dosent seem to use alot of ink.
