Worst Purchase Ever

It will not work without color ink available, even if you are trying to print with just black ink. I have searched for solutions; however, they did not work. It makes a lot of noise and is not very compatible with my mac specially when scanning. I would not recommend this to anyone, nor buy this brand again.

Printer was relatively easy to set up.
Print quality very good
Only negatives are 1) print cartridges are relatively expensive and have lower ink capacity than competing printers. 2) It is more difficult to use refilled cartridges with this printer than with competing ones, which is unfortunate because it discourages purchase of what is otherwise a good printer.

don't buy. could not get the printer to remain connected to router. Printed one page and quit. None of the trouble shooting information was helpful in the least as it was too vague or assumed computer knowledge beyond the norm. Telling me that the "printer is not connected" is stupidly unhelpful. I'm taking this back to the store and they had better give me my money back. I'll never buy Epson again.

After little use it now only prints with black. I have run all the onboard programs and it acs as if everything is fine. Even with new ink cartridges, it still prints with black and an occasional spit of another color.

I have used this printer for several years for printing (wired and wireless), scanning, and copying. I am generally pleased with all.
I would like to see certain features adjusted. Scanning should retain the color adjustments set when other features are adjusted (such as cropping). Loading paper into a partially full tray requires putting new pages behind existing to avoid traction issues. Ink cartridges 125 cannot be substituted with large capacity 126 even though they look identical. Ink usage is a large cost factor.

This printer is awful. The print quality is horrible and I had to hand write much of the important information I neeeded on the lousy copy. It is also very noisy and jerky. Not worth the price. spend a little more and get a Good printer.

I had been very pleased with this printer as long as it lasted. (which was not as long as I had expected.) After a little less than 2 years, it has completely stopped operation ! Small wonder I could not find myself recommending it to any other person. I have had many other printers in the past. some of the best were Epsons. Too bad that this NX420 is the bad apple in the bunch to spoil the entire barrell.
