I am about ready to throw this printer in the garbage!!!!! 8-(
Have tried installing it and NO DRIVER FOUND! I have Windows 7 and registered the printer and when I just tried to get support on-line it doesn't recognize my e-mail!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great printer/scanner. I needed a printer that I could use on all my computers at home via wirelessly and the set up was so easy I did it myself.

I have used an Epson sytlus 415 for two years and printed over 5,000 pictures on it and I don't know how many documents. I really loved the Easy Print feature for it. When it finially bite the dust I searched all over for a printer with the same features and found it in the 420. If I get the same performance from the 420 as I did the 415 you people will have a very satisfied customer. So far I have not been disappointed

The best part of this printer s that it can scan and fax as well as connect to a wireless network with wifi to print/fax/scan... The bad part is that it cant be used as a internet conection or point of access say if ur computer internet conection breaks down.. Ofcourse it keeps you safe from people conecting to you if your on a puplic or home network if the printer itself was a point of access for the internet.. All and all it works perfectly and its the easiest instalation software that ive ever had to work with... I would love to write more reviews..

Lion challenged

I installed this on a new Mac mini with OSX Lion. When I tried to Add the printer in Sys Prefs, it said it couldn't be done and to contact the manufacturer. Epson support site had the latest software, which I installed, but got the same error. Finally I restarted my Mac and all was fine. Seems like a simple step that someone at Epson should add to the instructions.
That said, I then performed several scans of pictures and documents. I was a little surprised that the scanning software doesn't seem to have changed in the 3+ years since I used my Epson Perfection 3170 scanner. You'd think the interface would improve, but the fonts still looked like early DOS days. However, the scans worked.
I set up printing pre-sets. Fast Economy and Economy look exactly the same when printouts are compared. I expected a difference. Printing is fast, as is scanning, and pretty noisy. Lots of clattering, like an old typewriter. There is no paper tray, just the vertical feeder at the back. There are no springs to hold up the scanner lid, but this is a very low cost printer.
I used direct USB hookup, so haven't tried the Wi-Fi.
Overall, the printing looks good and I'm satisfied with the scanning results. But I sure wish Epson would have improved that interface.
I would recommend this to a friend!
