Epson NX420

This printer was easy to set up. Make sure you have the network ID and the password for it, and it takes about 5 minutes to get it up and running.
I have it networked to my home desktop in my first floor livingroom, and to my laptop located on the second floor. My wireless modem is on the first floor, and I've located the printer upstairs. It works flawlessly.
Great printer.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Disappointed

I am extremely disappointed in the technical design of this product. Epson has decided to limit the function of the nx420 by not allowing the device to scan with empty ink cartridges installed. With this limitation, this device has become a dust collector. I don't need a dust collector, I need a device that will work in the capacity I need. I need to be able to scan documents and pictures into my computer and save them or work with them. I have already filed a complaint and now looking at your competition for a solution. I should not have to purchased ink to perform an inkless task!!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Needed to go the wireless route and came across the NX420 on sale. Price was right, and the features make for a very nice printer. Ink cartridges go in very easy....prints fast...nice quality to the print image. Just a great all-around printer....very happy with my choice!

My husband recently passed away - he used to do all the hooking up of any computer related printers, etc. This is the first time I have done it myself and I found the directions that Epson included on disc to be very thorough and easy to install. Thank you.

Great printer for the price.

I wasn't looking for the best of the best when I brought the NX 420 all in one. I just wanted something adequate.
For the price, I got something far better. I went to three stores before I brought this printer and this was one of the more solid printers. Most of the other printers, at its price range, were very light and flimsy.
Setup was easy. Basically, you know everything is installed properly when you hear a click. Just to let you guys know: When you install the inks and have to close the cover, you have to press closer to the top of the cover. If you press at its middle point, it will not close.
As far as productivity, everything is real easy to use. Scanning and copying only took minutes to figure out and the resolution of the scanned and copied material looked better than I thought it would be. I had no issues with printing photos either. The images came out very clear.
I give the NX420 five stars based on value for the dollar. It is a very good printer for the price.

Another New Printer

This is probably my 5th Epson printer, and have always been pleased with the qualithy of the photos and overall performance. It is regretable that the features of scanning and copying has taken precedence over the feature of cd printing.
I could only find one new printer in your line up that still has that feature and it was very expensive. I seem to experience a shelf life of about 2 years on my Epson products. This new printer replaced a Photo R280 which failed and it was determined that there were no customer fixes. The NX 420 is noiser than my other printers, seemed slower, and did use a lot of ink on a project using your Epson Matte. It is still new. I will give it more time to prove itself. I am a fan of Epson, however....Bill

Hardware connections were easy.
Software installation was easy on primary computer and secondary computer.
PROBLEM to be resolved:
Printing from secondary computer puts document in printing que and will not print.
Several tries puts seversl documents in printing que.
