Cracked pot

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have used this like 3 times.... There is a huge crack from the side up to the top.. I can not find a replacement... And this is only 3 months old....
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I've had this crockpot for awhile but never used until recently. Only used a few times and just notice a crack down the middle of the crock insert. This is the 2nd crockpot I've had that cracked like this. Not worth the hassle.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Excellent cooker with quality control issues!

First the good..This slow cooker performs flawlessly. We have cooked 7 meals in it ranging from stews/soups to meat and/or casserole type dishes. All came out perfectly. The cooker is programmable and you can set it in hours or 30 minute increment cooking times if you so desire and will automatically go to the warm setting when finished. I really like this cooker and it looks very nice on my counter matching our other black appliances. The lid locks down if you need to transport it which is nice.
Now the bad..Crock Pot's quality control is another issue. Upon opening the box (which was factory sealed btw- and not a return) and taking it out of the plastic bag it was in, there were several "sweat stains" and fingerprints all over it from the person or people who put it together! In addition to that, there were a few scratches here and there all very minor on the exterior and one that was more noticeable on one of the control pad buttons. The black paint is also very thinly applied and you can actually start to see the gray metal coming through on one side in a couple places. The first time we used it, a small crack appeared from under the lid handle about an inch which could not be felt just seen. Apparently the lid handle was tightened too much to the glass lid during the manufacturing process as it is held on with one phillips screw. To their credit, Crock Pot Chat C/S rep immediately sent us another lid. I just about returned it for these reasons but glad I kept it as it cooks so well. Crock Pot definitely needs to work on their quality control however. We look forward to using the cooker in the coming months as fall and winter approaches. It certainly will be a test to see how well our Crock Pot holds up. I gave it five stars for it's excellent cooking ability and definitely recommend it. I just suggest that you examine yours carefully when you get it to be sure you haven't gotten a "less than perfect" example. You paid for a brand new undamaged item and that's what you should expect.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had my first crock pot 30 yrs and it was great. My daughter gave me this one 11/2 yrs ago and I used it about 4 times. I cooked a big pork roast in it yesterday and I was lucky I had a liner in it because when I took the roast out the pot was CRACKED all the way down the side of the pot!

Not worth the money

I bought this crock last year to replace another 5 quart that quit. This barely made it a year and went south really fast. I had used it a few times and no issues. Then On Christmas if failed to cook the sweet potato's I cut up and put in there. Unfortunately I was short one dish that everyone was asking for. That's when my wife let me know she had trouble a week earlier when it failed to cook a pot of beans. Something has got to be wrong with this model after reading all the other complaints.

Great Crockpot. LOVE IT!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had this Crock Pot over a year and absolutely love it for everything. It heats as it is supposed to for times designated in recipes. I love that it automatically reverts to "warm" setting when the chosen time expires to keep dinner warm. It cleans up great. Definitely recommend this product.

I bought this item brand new after Christmas, I got to use it ONE TIME ! I made a port roast w/potatoes and carrots it was set on 8hrs, it DID cook the meal wonderfully. It switched to warm, THEN it shut off on its own and would not turn on again. No lights No nothing ! I used it as directed and am VERY upset cause I can't replace it (no money to) and the box was thrown away. I have have CROCKPOT since the 80's have NEVER had a problem. My question is 'Have you to like some other companies decide quality doesn't matter anymore ? Most sincerely, Marnie Kraushaar

Surprised there are so many issues

I've had this crockpot for over 6 years and have never had any issue with it. It cooks well and the settings are are not accurate (4 hours...6 hours etc) but once you figure out the best timing it's great. The 4 hour cook time is more like 6 and so on. The pot has never cracked and there are no electrical issues. If I needed a new part at this point I'd just buy a new crockpot. It's still going strong and is one of the best things in my kitchen.
I would recommend this to a friend!
