Not worth it

I bought this 4 months ago and within 3 weeks had to have a circuit board replaced because it wasn't cooling. It is way too small and lacks ability to control it like I want.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Major Disappointment

Purchased this refrigerator as I needed a 'counter depth' refrigerator for a new home. First issue was that it made loads sounds - I taped the sounds, as they were extremely loud and awoke us in the night. The repairman was extremely professional and 'fixed' the problem by placing a 'piece' of something to keep it from rubbing. He said it was an issue with this model. Secondly, it has a continual drip of water when the water/ice feature is used. This led to another visit from the repairman. He called in on the issue and found that it needs a 'kit' installed to prevent this from happening. The kit should arrive soon, and he will schedule a time to install. Overall, the refrigerator is nice looking (except from all the water stains from the dripping). However, it certainly has NOT performed up to expectations. My previous refrigerator cost approximately half as much and never gave any problems. I purchased the GE, as all the other appliances in the new home were GE and I needed counter depth to fit in. At this point, I wish I had not purchased, as I feel too many problems!

This is a replacement for a earlier model of the same refrigerator and is greatly improved. Everything works like it should and no service calls

Fixed...for now

This is a follow up to my review from 10 days ago about "Stopped cooling after 7 months". GE Repair came out two days later and determined our unit stopped cooling because of a bad fan motor - when that stops the whole refrigerator shuts down. The fan was replaced with another and a software update was applied to the refrigerator via a hidden ethernet port on top. As part of the repair we also got a new sticker inside the door reading "The fresh food fan on this unit has been upgraded". From what I can tell the software update came out in June 2015 so if you've received a new fan before that date, you may want to follow up and get that software as well. What is bad about this situation is there seems to be no way to proactively replace the fan and update the software, you have to wait until your unit goes out and you throw away all your food! Would be nice to schedule an update while the unit still works because there clearly is a problem with components of this refrigerator. I do credit GE for posting these reviews on their website and although we had to wait a few days for repairs, all work was covered under warranty.

Real lemon

This unit was installed in March. The ice/water dispenser leaked from the start and the electronics failed. Next the whole system board had to be replaced. Now 5 months after purchase, the refrigerator has stopped working. There is no emergency service, so after scheduling a technician for the next day between the hours of 8 am to 5 pm.....you get a "food loss" number to call to replace your spoiled food.

We upgraded this product and are very happy with it. The only complaint is its hard to keep tall things in it.

First of all the fan is loud and the only time the fridge is quiet is when it stops working. I bought mine May 2015. Stopped cooling, lights went out and water stopped dispensing after two months of use. Got someone out in two days that replaced the fan (with a better one) and said that they are about to be recalled because they have been replacing a lot of fans. 7 HOURS later all the same things happened now here I am.
I bought a new house with GE appliances so I wanted the fridge to match. Never again. I'd rather have mismatched that work.

noisy and un reliable
