Good Looking

We have had this refrigerator for a little over 6 months. The shelve and compartments work well and it keeps the temperatures at set point. About two months ago we noticed a noise the occurred every hour for 10-15 minutes. We had a service man check it and he replaced the fan behind the fruit - vegetable compartment. Noise has gone away.
I would recommend this to a friend!

The counter depth provided the clearance space we needed in our kitchen. Love the water/ice feature but wish it stored more ice.

We purchased this refrigerator as part of a package of new stainless appliances for our new kitchen! I love the counter depth--my must have; and we both love the water & ice dispenser on the door--my husband's must have! The screen for our photos was just the best bonus as it is loaded with photos of our first grandchild. As a friend said this week when seeing our new kitchen, "wow, the Cadillac of refrigerators, too!"

Could be a nice machine!

This model replaces last years model that we purchased in October of 2014. They are very similar with the exception the deli drawer only has 3 settings instead of 5 along with some colorful LEDs that signify which setting has been chosen. The last model was replaced because we had 5 service calls of which at least 3 were related to a fan issue. First issue was a failed control board for the above mentioned deli drawer. Second call replaced the mother board and both interior fans. The third call replaced one of the fans again, as did the fourth call. Each of these replacements were to correct a grounding problem in the previously installed units and it is my understanding the final fan installed during the fourth repair call finally fixed the issues of all previous units. This apparently was a widespread problem now corrected. The fifth call was for symptoms equal to the past 3 calls, i.e. freezing in the fresh food section of the refrigerator. During this final call the technician discovered a leak in the refrigerant system. He said it was very slow and probably was on the low pressure side of the system. HE said it was also very rarely encountered. To GE's credit the warranty service is good, the technicians well trained and responsive. The refrigerator is a nicely designed unit with great interior lighting. Prior to the already scheduled fifth warranty related service call GE offered to replace the unit we purchased last Fall. Unfortunately, the new unit arrived with a malfunctioning set of door front water/ice selector buttons so within hours of it's arrival I had to schedule another warranty service call!! This is remarkable, almost unbelievable bad luck that has resulted in a lot of inconvenience. We are retired otherwise it could have been much worse with one of us having to miss work. Again, fortunately GE service guy has been in touch and has parts ordered to be installed this week. Hopefully, this will be the end of our bad luck streak! The limitation of this cabinet depth model is storage, although it is not bad and the low capacity ice maker that would not make enough ice for a large group. If we did not have space constraints the full sized model that has about 5 cu ft. more storage and two ice makers would have been our choice. It would have allowed us to get rid of one of our other refrigerators.
