I purchased the GE profile 22.1 cu ft counter depth refrigerator after much research and I love it. It has all the functions I want - in door water and ice with a super auto-fill and custom fill feature. The controls are lockable which is important to keep little fingers from dispensing water and ice everywhere. The control panel is very user friendly and even has a little tutorial video for using the auto-fill system. The pull out shelf for dispensing liquids in a pitcher or larger container is super - I love that feature - use it all the time. The LED lighting is nice and bright. I also like the fold away shelf for tall bottles. I'm not sure a temp controlled meat and deli drawer is necessary but I am anxious to see if it extends the life of those items and if so, then that is another great feature to add to my list. For those who require it, it also has a sabbath setting. The chime feature is also great as it keeps people from standing there with the doors open while they figure out what they want, as the chime sounds continually as the frig starts to lose temperature. The fast chill feature is useful if the temp needs to be quickly brought back to setting. This is great after you've filled the frig up after a large shopping trip.
The ice receptacle in the door is a nice feature, although small, but it's not a deal breaker as we don't use tons of ice and I have a freezer in the garage. The larger cu ft models have an ice bucket in the freezer you can empty your ice into.
The door bins on the right side of the frig are very large and can be used for gallon containers if you want. All of the shelves are adjustable and spill proof. They aren't pull out shelves but when I had those before I never used them anyway.
I lpve the French door model with freezer in the bottom. For years I have had side-by-side refrigerators and hated them. This is so much more sensible. There is a large bin with a divider, a pull out bin, also with dividers. This is great for me as my husband is gluten free so I can keep his items separate from the rest. In the door of the freezer is a narrow receptacle you can use for small items - i.e., cans of juice, Popsicles, small boxes of vegetables etc.
Another big plus - American Made.
The only negative - there are no wheels in the front, only the rear. The front has feet that have to be turned up with a wrench so you can pull the frig out for cleaning underneath. That is why I gave this 4 stars vs 5.

New design is a knockout. Ice maker in door is a big improvement over previous models. Looks expensive and unique. Not your run of the mill stainless boxes

Vibrating noise

Refrigerator makes very loud vibrating noise. This is not the normal motor noise, it is a very loud vibration. GE repair has been here 3 times and while they have made it better the noise is still very loud.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Not the Best Choice

The refrigerator operates fine, but not sure it's any better quality than my previous (another brand) and the GE was definitely more expensive. The reason I purchased this brand is because the sales rep pushed it.

We bought our refrigerator during the Holidays and it is the gift that keeps on giving! Everything is at eye level when you open the double doors. No more searching like in a side by side. There is so much room even though it is a counter depth. The icemaker and water feature are the best tasting I've ever had. Thanks GE!

Get it right before you sell it!

It took several repair visits to get it working right -- including replacement of multiple parts. Maybe I will be more satisfied after a year of continuous satisfactory performance.

Great choice

Bought this refrigerator to replace an old side by side model that came with the house I bought - I hated its narrow freezer space. I had a bottom freezer refrigerator in my old house and loved it. The bottom freezer in this GE has a pull out drawer that is so convenient to store smaller items. Also love the access the French doors allow. That this model was counter depth was perfect for the space it needed to fit into except that it was 1.5 inches too tall to fit under the overhead cupboard. Today's refrigerators are taller than they were 15 - 20 yrs. ago. I had to have a cabinet maker resize the overhead cupboard & order new doors to fit it. This would have happened with any refrigerator I bought, but it sure was an inconvenience. Only thing I have a small issue with is the splashing from the water/ice dispenser unit on the front. The water spotting looks untidy and needs more upkeep than the rest of the refrigerator.
