Worth the money

+ This refrigerator came as a replacement for a 16 cu. ft., 10 year old refrigerator. Not only does it cost over 50% less to operate on a yearly basis, it has nearly double the space and triple the features. This fridge is a behemoth! It is just the right size for our nook, and it looks absolutely gorgeous. All of the shelves are good quality. The door shelves are fantastic too. On the left door, where the ice maker is located, you are able to fit 8-12 bottles and 5 canned drinks. I really can't say enough good things about this refrigerator, but I can say that if you are considering buying this model that you will not regret it once you get it in the house.
- With that said, when you do finally get your fridge and get ready to bring it in the house more than likely you will be taking the doors off. This is where my only complaint comes in - the instructions to take the doors off could certainly be more clear at one step. This step is near the beginning when you have to disconnect the water line in the back of the refrigerator. The instructions said something to the effect of pulling back on a collar, then slipping the line out. On mine there was a small black locking collar attached to the line that could easily slip on and off. Logically this seemed like the piece mentioned in the instructions as the picture for doing so is not so good. This piece is not the collar that they are talking about. The collar they refer to is actually on each end of the 90 degree elbow piece that connects the water line and simply slides down along the water line into the elbow allowing the line to be pulled freely from the elbow. Obviously this is not a major issue, but I felt that it could use some clearing up. After getting past this step the door removal is truly a breeze thanks to brilliant engineering on LG's part.

LFX28978ST French Door = A Good Buy

I purchased the following refrigerator Model Number: LFX28978ST on 3/20/11, and had it installed on 4/15/11. In registering it for warranty it would be good if they began the warranty on the install date rather than the purchase date.
Originally we were going to buy a white unit but at the time of purchase there was a special offer to provide Stainless Steel at the same price so we opted for it. We were concerned about cleaning Stainless Steel but have found that it cleans very easily and really does not get any smudges on the surface.
We like the indoor water / ice dispenser and it has worked trouble free for four months. A feature that is there, that we did not realize, is the support shelf pulls out to support larger containers such as a water pitcher.
The interior shelves are laid out in very nicely, and we like the split shelf that slides back to accommodate large bottles for juice or soda. The shelf that contains three draws works good offering separation of food items. The shelf below these is a single draw the width of the refrigerator. This draw at times has a tendency to bind when pushing it back in, so you must pay attention to pushing it at the center of the draw to eliminate this problem.
Our biggest concern with this purchase was the ice maker. We really liked the innovative design of being in the door rather than the refrigerator area. As this design is unique to LG we only had consumer reports to judge if it would be trouble free.
We use the ice maker daily and it makes enough ice for filling beverage glasses multiple times a day. The only problem we have noted is about once a month some of the ice cubes (about 5-9) clump together in the ice bucket and will not dispense. When this clump blocks the exit chute you have to open the ice maker and tilt out the ice bucket and usually grabbing the clump of ice cubes to break them apart, clears this problem.
The freezer draw and interior draw work easily without any problems
I would recommend the refrigerator as it provides easy access to ample usable space. The interior areas are well lit and the shelves on the interior and on the doors make the refrigerator user friendly

This is a refrigerator to die for. I love all the space and features it offers. It runs super quiet. The only problem I have seen is the small amount of water condensation on the door. I just wipe it off and keep going. I made the right choice choosing this one.

My New LG French Door Refrigerator

I am so excited about my new LG French Door Refrigerator! Not only is it beautiful, it is the most efficient refrigerator I have ever owned when it comes to storage and functionality!! It is easy to store everything in the top part and the freezer compartment is so easy to find the item I am looking for. The built in ice maker is wonderful. By building it into the door it frees up that additional space in the refrigerator. We are so pleased with the soft lighting also. I know this may seem small things but after our last lemon we just love this!!

This is our first LG appliance. Have had it in use for just over 7 months and have enjoyed the features and ease of use.
The French Doors make it easy to "reach & grab" something through one door, or open both for wider access.
The storage bins offer excellent accessibility, though I would appreciate the wide bin more if the molded plastic were of a stronger, more heavy-duty quality. Having in-door storage on both doors is excellent.
The ice dispenser and water dispenser are great features, but I wish the water was chilled more.
The moveable interior shelf is a fine feature, but we've found that it would be better if there was another moveable section on the other side of that upper shelf.
Interior lighting is fantastic.

I've had this refrigerator for about 6 months. It's a good looking fridge with enormous capacity. You can fit just about anything in there! There are just a few nuances that are slightly irritating. The ice capacity is rediculously small, but we found this to be comprable with all fridge models today. Fortunately there is a function to make ice quickly which helps. I find an issue with the left door where if i don't control the closure, the door will either slam shut or it wont close all the way. Last is the water dispenser...when guests use it for the first time, trial and error usually ends up with water being sprayed onto the floor. Unfortunately, anyone who does not know how to use the water dispenser will keep the glass under the ice dispenser and press the water dispenser with their hand instead of moving the glass from ice location to water location. At least each person only makes this mistake once.

I have had this refrigerator for six months. I replaced the water filter for the first time today and I have enjoyed the convenience of fresh filtered water and ice cubes. I love the size of the ice cubes. I have only two complaints, one is that I sometimes run out of ice if we have company. (now I buy extra) and sometimes the door on the left closes without slidding into the correct position. The alarm on the door alerts me to this fact and I'll reclose the door. It is so nice to have plenty of room to store everything and the bright lights enable you to find what you want easily.This is the best refrigerator I have ever owned. So far, so good!
Pros: foods seem to stay fresher longer.

This is the BMW 7 Series of refrigerators. The efficient utilization of super built-in space compartments is brilliant. Super appealing to the eye. Overall room for every conceivable event. I love, love, love my new fridge.
