[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought this workhorse 12 years ago and it did well for us until it died last week. The cost of replacing a compressor didn't make sense on a 12 year old unit, so we decided to replace it with another LG unit (LMXS18596S)

I contacted LG and found that the parts were covered under warranty for 10 years. The parts were ordered and a authorized LG repair service completed the necessary repairs. My refrigerator is running great at this time.

This fridge came with the house when we bought it and the only reason I received this survey is because I just registered it to get a repair man out here. This fridge is 10 years old and just died and nobody but LG will work on these things. So we bought another brand and are junking this thing as soon as the other arrives. Remember when appliances lasted 20+ years… not any more
