I have been very happy with the LG refrigerator. Since reading about the Linear Compressor and all the problems, I have been very lucky. My compressor lasted 9 years. Jason, the technician, replaced it and was very professional, courteous and neat. He answered all my questions and it was a pleasure to watch him work.
This fridge was great while it worked, but to pay so much for something that only lasts and needs replaced in 9 years is outrageous!

This LG refrigerator quit working due to bad compressor and when they put new one in I was advised that it required a new board to make it work and not covered under warranty. LG ( Life’s Good) does not reflect our feelings on your products and reliability.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have up graded all my appliances to an LG product. So my kitchen is now is wonderful. The stainless steel shines up beautifully with help stray polish. It looks like a brand newly restored area.

But once warranty ran out, compressor gave out along with “mother board”. Making it not worth repairing. Had to purchase new refrigerator... not LG

Had issues when fridge was about 4-6 years old. Ice was forming at the bottom of the freezer causing the freezer door not to close, and water to leak onto our wood floors. Then the compressor died last month, the fridge IS 10 years old. Great thing, the compressor itself is warrantied for 10 years but not the labor. Since the guidelines say I must "avoid writing about customer service" I won't mention specifics. Except to say that the 4 star rating is based SOLELY on my satisfaction with the fridge itself. I DO like the ice in the door AND the bins in front of the ice maker, so there's no lost storage space. Not to happy about the giant open bottom of the freezer. The extra compartment above is fantastic, however, it's next to impossible to organize the giant bin on the bottom. The ice plus feature is great also. However, at least twice a week for the entire 10 years we've had to press the reset button for the maker to drop the ice and it's seemed to have stopped midway of twisting the ice out of the tray. This happens even when the ice bucket within the maker is empty.
