Great fridge...until it stops working

Fridge is approx 10 years old. I have 2 older units (It doesn't have all the unnecessary bells and whistles that this unit has) that are still running after 20+ years.
Our LG fridge suddenly stopped working (fridge has power but no sounds, fan or compressor running) and displayed code FF (which means freezer fan issue). A tech came out and replaced the control/motherboard and the fan and the unit still had same issue. After disconnecting a wire from the left door, fridge now makes noise but it won't get cold enough. Sounds like an issue with the left door. Fridge was off for weeks, so there's no ice buildup. No worth the money we paid for. I'd expect an expensive fridge to last.

I just had this fridge fail - compressor shot and $1000+ of food ruined. It had been virtually perfect since its purchase and I love it, but replacing the compressor is VERY expensive and I bought another LG to replace it athalf the price.

This refrigerator has really great features and functionality. Only complaints are that the old style multiple push switches for the water and ice dispenser was better and the original version of the craft ice maker has issues, but LG replaced it and extended the warranty out to 3 years on that part.
