Clean and Bright

I love my 4 door Refrig. I especially love the fact that the ice is located in the door. It gives me more room inside the Frig. The Frig door can be open on the left or right without opening all of the doors. the two Freezer allowed my 2 young kids access without being too heavy.
Note: ice maker is a little slow so be sure to empty ice bin when it is full into container in the first freezer drawer so you will have enough ice especially in the summer. I had no problems with the water spout (the reason I love this, I did not want the Ice and Water to come out the same spout) but my relatives did have some problems because they were used to seeing the plastic spout with water comming out. After I explain hou to use it - no more problems.

I liked everything about this fridge except for the high-pitched noise it generated. After a couple of weeks, I got used to it a bit but I believed a fridge of this price range should not have that kind of flaw. I returned the fridge and got an LMX21984 instead. I am glad that I did. LMX21984 is much quieter overall and there is no weird high-pitched noise. I would not recommend this fridge(LMX28988)to people who are sensitive to noise like me.

Water dispenser is located in front of ice and can have tendency to splash.

Love this big roomy frig. No more standing on my head to find things in the back of the frig. The icemaker is great too. Makes more than enough ice quickly. It's also nice to be able to see into the veggy bind. No more wilted lettice just because I forgot it was there. Also the double door freezer is wonderful too. Things I need at my finger tips with no digging arround.
I love the light in the freezer. I didn't realize just how often I left the frig door ajar until I heard that beeper on the door. That was an eye opener.

Well it looks good BUT!! the two freazer lower drawers are not sealing properly and it creats heavy frost that turns to Ice. Then the sliders get cloged up with ice and you have to use a hairdryer to melt the ice to close the door. I have had one service call so far and the top drawer is now working. the lower drawer is still frosting over. I have asked for a second service call. If they fix it correctly I will be satisfied. The unit its self is grate for geting to every thing easly. I will udate my review after the next service call.

Big, Beautiful and Efficient

Okay, so I have only had this fridge for a few weeks, it was delivered on 07/31/2010, but I am truly in love. It is big and bright and beautiful to look at but the best parts are inside. The first thing you notice is the large bank of LED lights at the top. When you first open the double French doors, you can almost imagine hearing a choir of angels singing. I am not kidding, it is amazing the amount of light that shows through every inch of this beauty. The freezer and fridge temperatures are displayed on the door and are pre-set at 0° and 37°, I have checked the accuracy and they are spot on. And speaking of the freezer, this model has 2 separate freezer drawers and they have plenty of room inside and are easy to open and close. There is also a light in each freezer drawer which comes in handy when you just want to run out between commercials and grab that pint of ice cream without turning on the kitchen light, very clever! There are 3 crisper drawers, 2 large and one small one. Because this fridge is deep, I can put an enormous amount of produce in these drawers and can keep vegetables with stronger smells, like green peppers, away from fruits by using one drawer for veggies and one for fruits. I have noticed that lettuce and celery (which the smaller center crisper drawer is perfect for) stays really crisp and crunchy, and I have had strawberries that lasted 2 weeks. There is also a full width shallower drawer below the crispers which can be set to store meat, veggies or to use as a deli drawer. Each setting will then have a different temperature which is genius because we have all had veggies that froze if we used a lower drawer to store them. I use it for deli meats and cheeses and I swear that my lunch meats are staying fresh longer because of the perfect temperature for these items. The icemaker is a slim one, hidden behind a panel on the left fridge door. I love this feature because it has shelves on the front of the icemaker panel for soda cans and smaller items where, in former models, just a huge icemaker took up half of the door and wasted a lot of space. A large family who uses a lot of ice may find this a problem but we are not users of lots of ice and it is absolutely the perfect size for us. In fact, in our previous fridge, which was an enormous side-by-side, the icemaker took up half of the freezer side and I would often have to dump the bin because the ice became stale. This fridge uses a compact water filter which is in the upper left corner of the fridge and very easy to access and change, no more crawling on the floor to change the filter. Ice and water through the door; however, the water dispenser takes a bit of learning to use because it comes out at the top of the dispenser, in a different location than the ice, and a few people have mistakenly put their glass under the ice dispenser and pressed the water button and water then runs down the door and onto the floor. But, you can lock out the controls until you have shown everyone where to put the glass or pitcher and after a few errors, which will happen, they will get the hang of it. That feature allows a much taller glass, mug or pitcher to be used to fill with water so it a great feature, just one that has a slight learning curve. All in all, I would definitely recommend this refrigerator. It looks absolutely gorgeous in my kitchen, has excellent features and is energy star rated. It holds so much more than any fridge I have ever had and that was the main reason that we purchased it. Our 25 cu. ft. stainless side-by-side was still like new but we couldn't store anything in the freezer because it had the huge icemaker and tiny shelf bins. And forget about putting any large items in the fridge side, there was just no room for anything of any size or width. I was so happy to replace it with this beauty, and the young couple to whom we gave our previous fridge was delighted so it was a win-win situation!!

bad glass

We love your refrigerator but was disappointed when my wife washed the glass over the hydrator the first week she had it and the glass shattered into a zillion pieces. It took forever to get all the glass out of the garage disposeror. Now trying to find a replacement glass for fridge.

A great choice...

We did a lot of online research before selecting this LG model. We picked it for the following features: 2 freezer drawers, Tall ice/water dispenser, space saving ice maker, good internal organization and great owner reviews.

This model is exceptionally well made. The appliance guys that delivered it were thrilled at how easy the doors were to take off and put back on. The engineers seemed to really think things out.

It is very quiet and has fantastic rollers that make it very easy to move for cleaning/etc.

If you have a location that exposes one of the sides of the refrigerator, it is gray instead of the black that some manufacturers use. We like this combination with the stainless front.

The stainless front is very attractive and has a great finish. The handles have a very high quality feel. Both the drawers and the doors close very positively and self close when they get close to being closed.

The ice/water dispenser has a little slide out tray to make it easier to fit a pitcher in it and not have to hold it up. There is also a lift out tray insert, which makes it easier to clean. Any drips or small spills don't end up on the floor.

Our only criticism so far is that the "child lock" is too easy to take off. Our 2.5yr old already knows how to do it and has changed the temps on the control panel.
