I am extremely pleased with this television. It has the clearest and most detailed picture than any other TV I have ever seen.

I purchased the 47LE5400 from a local merchant who delivered and set up the unit. It worked fine the first day, but on the second day the TV would start and not display a picture. After unplugging the set for a 1/2 hour and then starting it, everything was ok. The same malfunction occurred on the 3rd day. I called Customer Service who set up a service appointment. Then I called the merchant. He sent out a new TV which works beautifully, no problems, and a great picture. I cancelled the service call.
Pros: Performance, Quality

Piccture yes, sound no

The picture quality is excellent, but the sound is poor. I found it necessary to route the sound to my stereo amplifier and speaker system to attain satisfactory sound. Since there are no RCA type output jacks for audio, I had to use the headphone output and purchase a cable to convert to the RCA input connectors.
When trying to change inputs (e.g. from TV to AVI), you must do so quickly or the conversion display goes away; and you have to try again.
Pros: Performance, Quality

Not for PC use

Good TV. I believe I got a good deal on it. I ordered via Amazon.com. I am using it as a TV but also as my main computer monitor. Setup was easy and I like that it has Netflix built in.
The reason I do not give it all 5 stars is because this TV does not come with its own PC drivers. Instead it defaults to the Windows Generic PNP Monitor. That means your refresh rate is limited to 60Hz which is half of the refresh rate advertised for this product. I get the best results by setting the picture mode to Expert 2 but the image is still not as crisp as my previous monitor. Prior to this I used a 3 year old Dell 23 inch LCD monitor. I am thinking of going back to it and just using the big screen for TV, movies and Xbox.
Pros: easy to use, Quality

i have had this tv for about a month and am very satisfied. the picture and sound quality is excellent. the only thing i have found wrong is the intelligent sensor. when i set the picture to this setting, the picture becomes much to dark. the other picture and sound settings are great. the tv is easy to set up and use. worth the price

Nice Christmas Gift

This really changes the way we watch TV.
With the wireless connection we get lots of choices when regular TV programming is not good we can go to Netflix or one of the other sites and get something fun to watch.
The only suggestion I have is to put 90 degree adapters on the RCA jacks on the back of the TV so it can be closer to the wall when mounted.

Noticeable Pixelation
on January 20, 2011

Disappointed in the amount of pixelation. Expected 120 Hz refresh to do better with motion. Also, the TV seems to often get confused rendering faces in front of busy backgrounds. Pixelation is very noticeable on Jeopardy program with longer shots - people's faces are often very noticeably pixelated against the busy set background. On an unrelated note, the edge lighting is often pronounced as well.
Pros: easy to use, Features/Settings

I love my new 47" LE5400!

I recently upgraded from a 19" LCD TV to the beautiful 47" LG LE5400 LED/LCD TV and am thrilled I spent the money. :-) The picture is beautiful, the TV is very thin (I'm about 90 lbs. and could pick it up myself and move it around.), it's got all the bells and whistles I wanted like: Internet/WiFi built in, ability to use Netflix, you can hook an iPod up to it and use it as a stereo, etc., and because it's an LED, it is more energy efficient with 3 power usage settings. I just have old fashioned rabbit ears on it the the quality of the picture is fabulous. No cable TV bills!
