Black levels to die for

Upgraded from an older Samsumg plasma and all I can say is wow. Superior panel ,everything is super clear and the contrast and black levels are amazing. Bravo.
Pros: Realistic color

Excellent Picture and Features

We purchased the PN63C8000 after reading many reviews on plasma and LED-LCD tvs, going to American TV to see the tv and check out our concerns hands-on. Some reviews report a buzzing noise and heat out put. After running this tv for 3 hours after setup and for seven hours the next day while trying some of the features, there is NO Buzzing Noise. The heat putput was very minimal and not a concern for this plasma tv. The build date for this model is 5/31/2010. The picture, color, and sound are excellent. Wide angle off axis view (which was a concern for us) is excellent at about 75 degrees off center. The hookup provisions are easy access due to the swival stand. The tv fits nicely on a 60 inch cabinet with towers on each side.
We have not tried the 3D yet. Our impression is, so far, that we made the correct choice.

For all of you out there looking to purchase LED-LCD, do not rule out Plasmas. Especially this one. I have been looking/watching all of Samsungs new TV's for the last 6 months and this is the one I decided on. Yes!!, bigger is better, especially if you watch 3d TV. This tv has a phenominal picture straight out of the box!!! Excellent colors, incredible blacks and no motion blur. This TV also has equal to or greater 3d pop (Soap opera effect)then the LED set. The ultra thin design was a must for me because I have a TV cove that only will house a 46". The "ultra thin" allowed me to mount it outside the cove and flush against the wall with the help of a false wall and an omni mount. If your room is quiet, I mean really quiet and you are standing right next to the tv you can here a very very faint buzz. Not a deciding factor as far as I am concerned. The internal speakers are marginal, but who watches/purchases a tv of this size without hooking it up to a home theater!!??? This tv is Fantastic!!! Do yourself a favor and Buy one!! Samsung guys, keep up the good work and keep enhancing the plasmas, if you can!!!

Best of the best TV

I researched a lot of TVs and found that plasmas were the best for 3d by far. This was the best 3d plasma available with tons of internet streaming features and frequent fw and app updates.
Pros:
1. Excellent picture quality in 2d and 3d from plasma. Puts LCD tvs to shame.
2. Frequent updates to apps for streaming content to tv including you tube, hulu and netflix. Other apps like facebook, tv guide and ESPN are handy.
3. Nice silver metal remote and with HDMI-CEC, it controls my blu-ray player as well.
4. Modern tv design that is thin and light.
Pros:
1. Excellent picture quality in 2d and 3d from plasma. Puts LCD tvs to shame.
2. Frequent updates to apps for streaming content to tv including you tube, hulu and netflix. Other apps like facebook, tv guide and ESPN are handy.
3. Nice silver metal remote and with HDMI-CEC, it controls my blu-ray player as well.
4. Modern tv design that is thin and light.
Cons:
1. More daylight and lamp reflection than I thought and really need curtains closed to avoid glare. Also, had to turn off floor height lamps in front of the tv to avoid reflection.
2. Switching video inputs is poor. You have to select 'Source', go up or down to the input you want and then select 'Ok' button. No direct keys to jump to certain inputs.
3. Doesn't have option to change channels in favourite list only vs. all channels.
4. Poor Samsung US website with details of the TV. Initially, I was looking at LED LCD TVs because of the way the website is laid out.

fantastic 3d tv

i own this tv for 3 weeks and the picture both 2d and 3d is super sharp,the movies look so real,its like you are on the set they are shooting the movie in,,, i have watched many 3d movies i own in 3d and it is fantastic,sometimes the 3d glasses blink on and off at moments during a movie but overall its great.. the 2d to 3d feature works better on some shows than others. i have a samsung 3d reciever and 3d blueray player and while they all do a great job and are all great looking together they are driving me crazy when they talk to each other, sometimes they change imputs by themselves or the dvd player turns off and then it turns the tv off too.. i guess i will have to look more into this,so for now i just have it set so they dont talk to each other..the 3d glases with the batteries break real easy be careful.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Inexpensive, Realistic color, Lightweight, side veiw is amazing, pictrue is so realistic

This TV replaced and is miles ahead of my not so old 50" plasma. I didn't purchase it for the 3D so I haven't tried that feature as yet but after using it consistently for a couple of weeks straight out of the box without any adjustments, I can't see how I could've done any better. The HD picture is absolutely beautiful, solid blacks, brilliant whites, and realistic colors. I'm using my stereo system for sound so I can't comment on the TV's audio. In respect to buzzing or excessive heat, I can assure you, there is none coming out of my TV. Manufacture Date is June 2010. This TV has a multitude of features that I haven't tried as yet but plan to shortly, such as the WiFi wireless connectivity to on-line services. Well worth the price.

I have never been more pleased in my life with a TV purchase. Plasma is the way to go with this size and for the cost of course you have to go Samsung. Couldn't possibly ask for anything more!

the tv has amazing picture quality as well as a jam packed feature set! 2D to 3D conversion, apps, widgets, and so much more. I'm very glad i bought this tv and i will never regret it.
