Great Camera

This camera is easy to carry, takes great pictures, the different touch settings is great.
My only complaint I can't see very well in the LCD because of the glare. Out side it is really bad.

I purchased this camera because I was moving into a new apartment and needed to document pre-existing damage. This was to be my first digital camera and I was nervous about it being too complicated . This camera was perfect. Not only was I able to take very clear "damage photo's" of the apartment, I also took some excellent photo's of Plantation Garden's at Cornell University at Ithaca, New York. I am going to buy this camera for my granddaughter for Christmas.

Slow to respond when taking pictures

This camera was put in service to replace a 870 Canon which by the way is a stellar camera. The features for the 3500 are quite nice and the touch screen is easy to use. I am severely disappointed in the speed in which the camera performs. I do have expectations that the camera would perform much slower than a SLR. The camera speed is beyond ridiculous; and when shooting photos stalls out for 2 to 4 seconds between shots. I thought the fireworks option would be a fun tool to take pictures over the Fourth of July. This served to be fruitless. The 4g Cellular phone (8 megapixel camera phone ) out did this camera. If a shot was taken, the camera would stall out for 6 -7-8 seconds to get the shot. I am beyond disappointed in the camera. Ooooppppssss I missed that picture is common on this unit due to slow speed. This is the second unit send out by a very responsible retailer. The first unit had a defective time and date stamp issue. I give this unit a think twice be for purchase; 2 thumbs down!

Cons: Poor image quality, slow between shots, out of focus on quick shots

We were finding it more difficult to find film for our other camera, so we decided to get into the 21st century by buying this awesome little camera in April 2010 - after much research and consulting a photographer friend. Best choice we could have made! Pixel quality and sharp pictures are top notch. Video is very good, but we find that using our video camera works better for us. Larger LCD is great compared to other cameras. It's such a fantastic "point and shoot" in auto-mode that we haven't even started learning all of the programmable features (hence the lower rating). Battery life is amazingly long. HIGHLY recommend it...you will LOVE it!

I would like more from it

Overall it's okay but not what I expected. I really wish they had added more video features, and currently my videos are not working as well as they should. I don't think I would recommend this. Actually if you want a good powershot, find the SD870 IS I found it better than this camera, and easier to use. The image quality on the camera is what I expected, but I would just like more from it.
Pros: Bright LCD, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use
Cons: Missing features/settings, Short battery life, having trouble with video, no macro video, no time lapse video
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I am privileged to have had the chance to just to this camera. This is a step up from the sd980 and I love the ease of use as well as the new look. This is something worth investing so definitely a satisfied consumer right here. 10 for 10 !

I've upgraded from a Canon 6MP to this Canon 14.1MP. Thinking it would be a much better quality pictures. So far I've had this camera about a month or so and currently I'm not very impressed with picture quality so far. Maybe I've not learned all the features just yet but I figure on the full auto mode I would not have to make those decisions that's why I purchased a full auto camera.
Pros: good battery life, Nice features/settings, durable, Bright LCD, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use
