Best purchase I've made!

I did a lot of research and review many diferent types of TVs and nothing came close to the Samsung LED 558000. In combination with the TV, Samsung BD-7500 and 7.1 surround, there is no reason to go out to the movies. Both TV and Blueray were fast and easy to setup. Even my wife knows how to operete the system. The BD-7500 is fast loading, no more downtime waiting for movies to load and the internet features are fast and enjoyable. When upgrades are available, Samsung gives you notification and upgrades can be done through the internet. I am one happy customer!

I must admit I am truely impressed with this TV. Straight from the box the TV was impeccible. Bright, clear and no motion blur. I can't say enough good things about the TV. So why the 4stars on design? This TV has capabilities that were just beginning to be developed, yet, Samsung has essential dropped support for the processor and have offered no significant updates to the potential capabilities of the set. (Last update was provided in Feb 2010) If I had known that this model would be dropped so quickly, I would have waited for the next model that also includes 3D. But again I can't fault the TV - it's a fantastic system.

I found all aspect to be of superb quality. Easy on the eyes, just about all screen viewed gave you the feel of 3D. Samsung logo on display was a bit annoying due to the logo being lit up but i got use to it. Colors are simply incredible. Manufacturer setting were close only a few minor changes needed to be done. Overall this is simply an experience that all should be made to go through. It just doesn't get any better then this. Thank you Samsung - this is the reason we buy only Samsung!

This model is an excellnt LED for the $. I'm still waiting for my 3D glasses and Blue Ray to be delivered in order to check out the 3D cabilities.

Everything I expected...

The UN55C8000 is everything I expected:
1. Great picture
2. Great sound
3. Great value
4. Aesthetic design that fits will with the room.

My only disappointment is with features I didn't expect:
1. The 'apps' have a ways to go: they are difficult to configure, Netflix requires a separate PC to 'queue' a video stream; each app seems to use a different standard for setup and use. The whole 'app' space would benefit from robust usability testing - prime example: keying for userid(s) and password. The 'keyboard' operates differently on the userid and password fields - wierd.
2. The Samsung userid/account is a mystery I'm still trying to solve. I created an ID on Samsung's site *after* I configured my TV. The TV does *not* recognize my Samsung ID/Password. Go figure.
3. The Samsung registration page (including this ratings page) would benefit from usability testing. Sections of the form are cut off making product registration a real challenge. The text box for entering these comments *does not* properly hold the scroll for longer comments.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Realistic color, Lightweight

Expensive But Worth It

I have 2 other HDTV's - both Sony's Bravia. They are good, but for this 55 inch TV I went with the Samsung. Absolutely the best TV I own. The kids love it - especially the 3D. I thought it would be a gimicky waste of money, but it is enjoyable. It's expensive relative to other TVs but I think it is worth after having it in my house now for 2 weeks. I'm glad I went with this one. The sound is marginal at best, so you'll definitely want to hook it up to a sound system. I'd also like to see more 3D content.
Pros: Bright display, Realistic color
Cons: internal speakers are not great
