auto dimming

Auto dimming is the worse!!! I turn the light off so the tv seem brighter.. not for it dim itself.. It makes not sense to me.
Even worse is there is no way to turn if off.. I would not recommend to anyone who likes to watch movies with the light off, which is everyone.

Pros: video games look great
Cons: auto dimming, no way to turn off auto dimming, way to exspensive, 3d glasses are to exspensive, ugly base

A good TV but could be better

Let me start off by saying that this TV wasn't exactly inexpensive. The TV offers a variety of features such as downloadable apps, DLNA access provided you have a DLNA server, an awesome image, great brightness, and you pretty much get the picture that this would be a great TV set.
So what keeps this TV from being so great? Try watching this TV with the lights off and you'll discover that in dark scenes there are distracting issues such as flashlighting from the corners and right directly above the samsung logo. If that wasn't enough there is also the uneveness during dark scene on the screen that causes what people call clouding. These are blotches of lighter colored areas on the screen. I've gone through 2 sets and each one has a unique severity of clouding on the panel. This obviously according from Samsung's tech services is an internal defect of the panel. One thing I wish though is that Samsung would offer better QC/QA of their products.

- Samsung deletes apps like "TED" without giving you a notice and then tells you for a month that it will be available in a few days, but they can't notify when it happens.

I have had two sony tv's one a plasma 42" and the other an LCD 46". This TV has the best picture I have ever seen and I am so glad that I bought it.
The picture quality is so clear that you think you are in the room with the people on tv and as far as sports game it is really the absolute best.
