Awesome tv, Its like looking in a mirror when watching 1080p content. The suggested settings on the Samsung site seem to be acurate. 3d is also amazing, once you get used to it, however glasses are extremely expensive. Make sure you purchase high speed HDMI , 3d cables. I purchased the Audioquest (Chocolate) cables and the picture quality is superb with extremely accurate color. I'm a Samsung fan and always will be. Great job Samsung.

well to start off this is the best tv i have ever owned and probably the best out right now. Blacks are a deep black, colars jump of the screen. no complaints. Simply stunned

The picture quality is simply stunning. You simply have to get one to understand how visually amazing the picture is. I am watching movies and I am seeing things I never thought possible. You will re-watch all your old movies just to see what you've been missing all the years with inferior TVs. The only gripe I have is Internet@TV is not working and I am still trying to figure out why. The manual doesn't even begin to shed light on why and I still hunting through it to see why.

Expensive but worth it!
Although 3D Ready . . . I'll probably never use the 3D function. 3D technology still has a long way to go to become anything less than a gimmick. Increasing/progressive brightness falloff at any angle of approx 25 degrees or more.
LED vs LCD? Have not had it long enough in a "Home Environment" to establish any real overall deficiencies and/or the amount of electricity consumption, but I hope to see at least 25% savings over LCD technology.
On the other hand, I spent several months reviewing/ "A-B ing" Samsung TV's against the "other Guys" before taking the leap to invest in a 55" + TV. I must say . . . in my opinion . . . to date, the Samsung 8000/9000 Series LED TVs have a leg up on their competitors.

I have been one to put the buggy before the horse so to say... In the last month i have started with a 55" Sony Bravia, 52" Sharp, the 55" 6500 series Samsung and i finally bought the 55" 8000 series and i am here to tell you it has blown my socks off the images are so crystal clear they seem life like! I didn't buy the TV for the 3D feature but when i got it home i tried it out and it is so awesome it is so much better then watching it in the theater!!! The 2D-#d conversion is great i watched a football game and it was mind blowing... I wish i would have started off with this unit from the start but if i would have done so i would not have had a comparison and have know for a fact that i had made the right choice. I wanted the 9000 series but my wife would not even allow me to look at it cause of the price but all in all everyone that's seen this unit it has rocked their socks!
Pros: Bright display, Durable, Realistic color, Lightweight, 3d, features

I'm very happy with my purchase. I love the Apps, Netfiix, Vudu etc...
The Masters in 3D was amazing! Wish the 65" was available when I bought this 55"

Excellent TV in 2D, mode pretty good in 3D. While there is still some crosstalk and ghosting, the firmware udates seemed have a bit of improvement on that. Also I found it useful to adjust the settings in the menu. The sound quality IMO is pretty good for just TV speakers. Lots of nice apps that work very well.

The 3D experience was spectacular, might be even better than the movie theater experience. Excellent feature set that you cant find in most other brands. Very good picture quality. I have not tested the Skype integration yet, thanks to Skype's unreliable order fulfillment partner.
I am hoping that the C9000 remote control will also be available for this model and the 3D glasses become more affordable.
