Great TV

The TV is awesome, with really good features. The one gripe is that is WILL NOT work wioth Playon media server (or any server that transcodes on the fly), which is really really unfortunate.
Pros: Style/Design, easy to use, Quality
Cons: does not work with playon media server

This is the best TV that I have ever owned. The picture is clear and sharp. It was easy to set up and is a joy to have. The ability to use online elements is a real plus. I would highly recommend this TV to everyone.
Pros: Performance, Style/Design, easy to use, Features/Settings, Quality, on-line elements

I am very happy that I bought this tv, it is the best TV I have purchased so far. I own another branded flat panel tv but nothing compares to this product.

Decent TV for the price

Let me first state that I have a love / hate attitude with LG products. I have an old LG VCR that is still working after 15 years and a LG surround sound DVD player that has been in for repairs 3 times.
I bought the 42LD550 for my bedroom. The features with this TV are, in my opinion, the best part for a LCD at this price point. I have been able to connect with my home wireless system with ease using the optional wireless dongle. The speakers are clear, if not a little tinny sounding and the available picture options are incredible.
The TV gives the user the ability to automatically adjust the picture quality for the ambient light conditions in the room and it also has a very robust set of color and sharpness controls. One down side is it only gives the blue color range, brightness and contrast, no red or green.
With multiple HDMI (4) inputs, composite connections, and a digital optical out, the TV has plenty of options for just about anyone.

I have never owned a TV that had such clarity. It is almost the same as sitting there and watching it in person.

Great Overall Television

This product was a great value purchase. Great for things that are recorded and meant for HD quality viewing such as Blu Ray and Sports. The only complaint is that it makes upconverted television and DVDs appear almost fake, almost as if though the eyes aren't used to it. After a while it grows on you though.

Upgraded from a 32" Lcd to this 42" and I couldn't believe the difference. First off the size of this thing dwarfs my old one that I couldn't believe the difference was only 10 inches. Another big difference is the video, from 1080i to 1080p. Really noticeable. The sound was also very good.
NetCast is awesome. I used to watch Netflix through my Xbox, but that is no longer needed as I can stream Netflix straight to my TV. Also the YouTube app is awesome too.
You can't go wrong with this TV. I highly recommend it.

This is my first HDTV, so I was a bit overwhelmed and spent a lot of time researching before my purchase. I am quite pleased with this TV, picture quality is excellent and additional netcast features are impressive.
