Quit Working in 3 years

Was a great TV up to the point it died on me with no warning. Lasted 3 years and 4 months. I know we live in a "disposable" society but I expect a major purchase like a flat screen tv from a reputable manufacturer to last longer than this. won't buy another LG product.
Pros: didn't last
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great looking and great performance. Built in LAN connection and usb wifi adapter port is great. Menu is awesome and easy for my wife to navigate. Best menu I've seen out there!
Pros: Style/Design, easy to use

QUIT WORKING IN 3 YEARS TOO

Loved this TV. One day it turned on and just stayed on the startup screen. From research on the internet it appears to be a defect in the main control board - wonder how many others are like this. Must be a lot because can't even order a main control board replacement - places are all out of stock. Haven't tried the suggestion to take out the board and bake it in the oven to reflow the solder yet. Will not be purchasing any more LG products after this experience.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Best picture of all seen

Checked Consumer Reports, and then I went shopping. Checked leading Mfgs. and LG had the best picture and and features. Some had other features but LG had the best picture by far. Far better than my older LCD TV which I paid 3 times the amount for.
Pros: Performance, Style/Design, easy to use, Features/Settings, Quality

Having this 42LD550 for a few weeks. Have watched Chicago Blackhawks' Stanley Cup game few hours after the TV was delivered. The image of the game was amazing. 120Hz refresh rate and 2.4ms response time show no motion blur of the game. Using wired connection for NetCast, Netflix image is good. USB2.0 port reads movies, but not all of the formats all be played on this TV. Hopefully it will be fix in the future. I also have my PC connected via HDIM, so I was able to watch any movie format on this TV. The TV also works with Nero MediaHome 4 software which came with the TV. It can stream media from your PC too. I purchased this TV without any review on the web, but I am very satisfied with this LG.

Good Stuff

It has been 18 months since I purchased my LG LCD and it is still going strong. I do not write reviews until the product I am reviewing has withstood at least a year of use. I have yet to see any dead pixels and the screen is just as crisp as it has ever been. I love the soft-touch buttons and sleek case design. The anti-glare screen does a great job and with all the different input ports available, I have not had an issue connecting everything to it. I do a lot of research before buying anything and I have to say, this product has been awesome and LG has lived up to its increasingly good name - keep it up guys!

Audio Out

Pro - Excellent Quality Video.
Con - Unit does not have Audio Output jacks. Internal speakers are fair but not equal to the quality on the video. Like a fast car with bad tires.

My first flat=panel, HDTV purchase. Still amazed at the picture quality. Loved the ease of connecting to NETFLIX; bought the LG 'dongle', plugged it in, registered with NETFLIX online, and it was done. That is the way things should work, but many times do not.
Pros: Performance, Style/Design, easy to use, Features/Settings, Quality
Cons: remote is a bit disappointing
