Got this for gaming...

To start with the bad, the tv stand does wobble a bit when moving it around. But that's a minor nitpick. Really, this is a nice tv at a midrange price.
This is my first HDTV. I did a lot of looking around and comparing between different brands and this is the one I chose.
The picture is crisp and color is great. It has multiple pre-set modes, but also two expert moods for people who want to customize their picture. One neat feature is the energy saver button, which can darken the screen picture and even turn it off completely, while retaining the sound, for people who want to use the tv for music or perhaps just going to sleep with tv sound on in the background. It has internet stuff like Netflix and Yahoo within the tv, which is fun.
The remote is a great surprise. The menu interface and remote are sooo easy to use. It has shortcut buttons for changing the picture mode or aspect ratio. You can create favorite groups for channels, which is very useful.
The main draw for me was finding a tv with little to no input lag and let me tell you, it is very minimal. Overall, this is a really nice model which works great for my purposes of gaming and it isn't a pocketbook buster. :-)

I had to replace a stolen TV - not a good thing and yet, having purchased this awesome TV has been the best experience. What a beautiful piece of technology. The picture, sound, everything about it is incredible. You feel like you are sitting in the middle of whatever is going on. It is hard to express just how pleased I am with my new purchase. Thank you for making such a great product.

It's a solid set and I'm not sorry I own it. It has some features that are meant to be selling points, which I've disabled. I don't really see the benefits of TruMotion. And, the technology through which the TV automatically adjusts picture intensity based on ambient room lighting is useless. It just never seems to adjust itself to a picture brightness I'm happy with, so I disable this feature and adjust manually, which is easy enough to do.
Pros: Quality, easy to use

Great picture and sound, was easy to set up, nice features and great value for the price. I would highly recommend this set to anyone looking for a great HDTV at a reasonable price. I needed a 42 inch TV to fit my Home Theater cabinet, not many out there, LG was the best I reviewed. I sure will buy another LG for other places in my home. GREAT product !!

great tv, not so great features

I love the tv. The picture is great. I'm not so sure about the Tru Motion. I'm curious to see how it does once football starts up. However, the real reason I bought this tv over others in its class was for the internet features. I was let down in this area. When I first vistited the LG site it showed (and still shows as of this review) Pandora on the Netcast menu but Pandora is not available. I wish there were more features here as well. The Yahoo widgets are slow and very limited in selection. The only good/free feature is Youtube. Finally the streaming of my local files via a media server only shows the first 999 songs from my library. I have over 4,000 songs. An LG rep stated that the TV was only set to show 1,000 files which breaks down to 1 folder and 999 songs. Lame.

I have owned my 42" LCD TV for about 5 weeks now and I haven't found one thing I don't like about the TV. It has an incredible picture quality that has so much depth and detail it almost looks like 3D. The speakers have good sound quality and are very clear. I have not taken full advantage of all the internet features but the set-up for the wireless adapter was a breeze and works great for the little bit of internet use I have done. Overall I would have to say this was a great purchase and I am totally satisfied with my LG product.

I love...love..love my tv. I love it soooooooooo much that I purchased the 32lcd450, which i posted a review about also. It is so sexy in style and just amazing with the things it comes with (ie, the netcast).

Excellent 42 inch flatscreen

Our order was delivered to the door and was hung on a wall over our computer desks. Installation went very smoothly and the extra features for Picasa viewing and Netflix were seamless and all worked well without any problems.
I can also view directly whatever is on my computer screen for all to see. External speaker capability is also a feature altough the sound is quite good even so. I would recommend this TV to anyone and above all the price is right.
