Watch Out! (Other Appliance Companies)

I recently purchased this refrigerator and so far have had no issues with it. This fridge was rated highly by an independent agency and I have to agree with their assessment. I have a family of four and the ice machine makes enough ice for all of us during the course of a day. I had to arrange some items several times since I was not use to "French Door" styles but once I got use to it I find it very easy to get to the items.....we use the middle compartment for sodas and quick pick items and it is very convenient. I am happy with the purchase so far...I think you will be too.

Wow, refrigerators sure have improved in the last few years

We replaced our old side by side refrigerator. My wife has wanted a French door style with lower freezer for several years. I can't believe how much better this refigerator is versus our old Whirlpool. The layout for the main refrigerator is great. Many features allow storage of tall items like wine bottles. The middle drawer makes it so much easier to find items like cheeses and lunch meats. The freezer is much bigger and can organize very well. The pizza tray feature keeps your pizza from being buried and easy to get in a moment. We are both very happy with this refrigerator.

Pretty, Nice but bad ice maker and poor shelving design

My Samsung two door, two drawer is very pretty to look at. The LED lighting is great. The temperature control of the drawer is great.
The shelving design is not good at all. Door shelves have curved edges that waste space. This frig is 4 cubit feet bigger than my last and it holds less. The space for tall items is terrible. The worst feature is the ice maker that makes almost no ice. If I have more than two people over to swim I better buy ice. Sometimes I run out of ice just for the two of us if I pack a small cooler. It is enough of a problem that I would never buy this frig again.
Pros: Bright display, Lightweight, pretty, well built
Cons: ice maker is weak, shelving design/layout
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I hate this fridge!

I absolutely hate this refrigerator. It was not my choice to purchase this item but have been trying to "make it work" for over a year now.
First of all the outside drawer is stupid. The first thing we did was take out all the sliding metal dividers and etc, it cuts out so much usable space and you need every inch where you can get it because there is no space in this fridge. The drawer is just stupid, Kids hang on it, it does't fit much. I loved the big flat drawer when it was in the top.
Secondly the ice maker basically makes the entire left side of the fridge unusable while producing and very small amount of ice per day. And you can't pull out the ice maker unless the door is fully open which unless your house is accommodating is not possible. Ours opens enough for everything but that.
Third, the door shelf's on the right all 3 have broken! they make it big enough for your gallon of milk which is good because there is no room anywhere else, but they break!
Also the stainless steel is hard to clean and non magnetic for the price you would think it would be quality steel and be magnetic.
Overall not happy loved my other Samsung french door, absolutely despise this one. If you keep a lot of fresh food or have family to feed there is not enough room and you can not organize it at all!
Cons: Poor quality
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Control Panel Faulty- Owners Manual Inadequate

I have owned this refrigerator approximately 2 years. The power to the refrigerator and the freezer has shut itself off twice during this time period. The control panel indicates "OF" for both the freezer and the refrigerator when this happens. There are no instructions in the owner's manual that tell you how to turn the power back on. I called customer service and the tech told me to hold down the "Power Freeze Icon" and the "Energy Saver Icon" simultaneously to turn the power back on. The tech told me to write these instructions down because the Owner Manual did not have these instructions. Luckily I did this so when it happened the second time I knew what to do. The refrigerator control panel seems to be poorly designed and manufactured allowing the power to be shut off purposely, by accident or by defects in the control panel itself. Secondly, the owners manual should have instructions on how to turn the power back on when the power gets shut off for any reason. Evidently this same problem had happened often enough the service tech knew exactly what the problem was and what to do about it. Seems like Samsung should do a recall on the control panels for this refrigerator instead of telling customers to write down instructions for fixing a problem that should not occur in the first place.
Pros: Bright display
Cons: Poor quality
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Best refrigerator I've ever owned!

I bought this refrigerator to replace another similar type refrigerator from another company that only lasted 5 years. Samsung was recommended by the salesperson as reliable and had all the features I wanted and then some. Could not be happier with my purchase. I love the sliding and lifting shelves to allow for tall items and the flex drawer.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Worth the money so far

Our old, very simple fridge died suddenly, and we decided to spend some money and buy our first "grown up" fridge. We considered for a second the newer model of this fridge (the only difference we saw is that the newer model has a soda machine, that's it), but the price difference and few extra features did not make it worth.
First, the fridge is huge inside. We've been buying a lot of food and the fridge still looks empty, both in the fridge and freezer sections. Plenty of extra little nooks everywhere that fit bottles and other things. So, while the ice and water does occupy space in the fridge, you can still somewhat take advantage of that space. But having water and ice on the door at all times does make life a lot easier compared to not having them! (Be aware, though, that you do need to replace the filter every now and then, and it's not that cheap. The fridge does tell you when to do so, though.)
Design-wise, the fridge is just beautiful. The stainless steel French doors make life a lot easier, and look great. The LCD at the door is big and easy to read and use, controlling several setting on the fridge, including how cold it is. The inside lights or the lights on the water/ice dispenser are awesome, and even makes food look nicer!
We also love the middle tray with its own temperature control. Perfect for a couple bottles of wine, snacks with easy access, and so on.
The only two downsides to this fridge that I've noted in the last month we've had it:
If you want to use ice trays to make ice, there's really no place to properly store them (not that you need it that much, since the fridge does have an ice maker, but still).
And the stainless steel door does get smudges very easily, although I've read tips from others here on how to clean or maintain the door more easily, so that's also not a big problem.
Overall, very very happy with this purchase. It was a big investment but, in the one month we've had it, it's been absolutely what we expected, and more.

This refrigerator has many wonerful features like the EZ Open Lift-up Handles on the Freezer and Flex Zone Drawers so there is no muscle force required. My Husband loves the Flex Zone Drawer for easy access to his club soda storage without having to open and reach into the refrigerator all the time. Loads of storage space and great shelving design. Bright LED lighting makes viewing clear. Water filter is located for easy access when it requires changing. On door display panel is easy to use. Twin Cooling - two evaporators - superb concept and functionality!
Pros: ez open handles, flex zone drawer, twin cooling evaporators
I would recommend this to a friend!
