This is the blender that I had been searching for. It has enough power to blend everything I have added to it and has done a great job with ice. I have bought about 3 other blenders prior to purchasing the Kitchen Aid that I returned because the quality wasn't there. I like the easy clean up too. I am very pleased with this blender.

I bought this blender primarily to make smoothies. While it blends well it is very noisy, and moves all over the place. You cannot walk away, you must hold on to it to keep it from moving off the counter.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This model blender has served me well, however, the plastic pitcher and the mechanism inside of it gave out. The parts are not made anymore. The base and the motor are fine. I got frustrated because I could not find a new picture and its blades so I just bought a new one.. if I could find a replacement pitcher, I would have a back up. But alas, I have not been able to.

I am a gadget person and I love my kitchenaid products (blender, food processors, and even appliances) but this is the second item that has needed a replacement part with minimal wear and tear. Now a $50 pitcher because mine leaks.
I gave the blender itself 3 stars because honestly it works great when everything is together but I am on the fence about whether i should buy a new non kitchenaid blender or if it is worth hoping thr next blender pitcher will last longer. Seems like they should be more durable or cheaper to replace.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
