FANTASTIC PICTURE!

WOW! WE LOOKED AT A LOT OF TV'S. AND SPENT A LOT OF TIME RESEARCHING.
BUT HAVING IT IN THE LIVING ROOM, ALMOST FEELS LIKE YOU CAN STEP INTO THE PICTURE - ALICE-IN-WONDERLAND EFFECT. EVEN FOOLED THE DOGS, AND THEY NEVER PAY ATTENTION TO THE TELEVISION.
LOVE THE DIFFERENT ADJUSTMENTS FOR THE VIEWING BRIGHTNESS.
BUT NAVIGATING THE SCREEN USING THE REMOTE. UGH! TOTAL FRUSTRATION, LAG TIME, VERY CONFUSING. NEEDS A LOT OF WORK.
BUT FOR WATCHING MOVIES, NEWS, ETC., HAVEN'T SEEN ANYTHING BETTER.
THE REMOTE NEEDS TO BE HURLED OFF THE BALCONY AND STOMPED ON REPEATEDLY.
NOT A GOOD INTERFACE BY ANY MEANS.
IF YOU ARE NOT INTO USING IT FOR THE APPS. THIS IS AN EXCELLENT VIEWING EXPERIENCE FOR WATCHING MOVIES, AND TV IN GENERAL.
THE NETFLICKS MOVIE OPTION IS A LOT OF FUN, BUT HARD TO NAVIGATE THE MOVIES, USING THE REMOTE.
Cons: qwetery is awful!, remote is not user friendly

After using CNET's published settings for my UN46C8000, the already excellent picture quality really came into it's own. Lifelke skin tones with super resolution, deep blacks that make the credits float in a darkened room, and deep colors with serious pop. I first tried Avatar with the default settings; way too oversaturated for me. After using the new settings, everything had a film-like quality. Downside is seeing poor Sigourney Weaver age. High def is merciless.
Fit and finish is really top notch. Maybe not everyone's cup of tea but for me the brushed metal finish exudes class and fits into my room's aesthetic very well. Detractors dislike the remote but it looks and feels like the remotes for my high end audio equipment (like it's been machined from a single billet of aluminum).
Compared this TV to the Sony's, LG, and Toshiba's offerings as well as 50" plasmas. I bought Samsung. Just better design, execution, and performance across the board.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I got this Tv a few weeks ago and it is way to good. The picture is out of this world. When it comes to 3d this Tv does it best. I was waiting for the 9000 and don't get me wrong. The 9000 is also a nice Tv, but it is not as good as the 8000. the picture on the 9000 is not even close to the picture of the 8000. The only thing that you are paying for in the 9000. Is the thinness and the remote that looks like the iphone. If your looking for a out of this world picture go with the 8000. Like i said the 3d on the 8000 is very good. I love this Tv I give it a 10/10 go SamSung!!!!!
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great TV

After a lot of research I decided on this Samsung and we are not disappointed. The set up was a piece of cake. The picture quality is beautiful. The 3D imaging is amazing. The only downside I can possibly say is that the plastic part of the stand seems to be fairly flimsy. It hasn't caused any problem, and one day we might wall mount the TV, but for a TV of that price I am concerned that the base might not be all that strong.
Owned a JVC for almost 20 years, thought it had the best picture and features I had ever seen on a tv, The Samsung is quality like I've never experienced.
