Awsome LED 3D TV!

This is my fifth samsung purchase. This tv is by far the best one yet. Picture is stunning, 3D is unbelieveable, And the features are endless. The sound is not so great but that is to be expected on any thin tv, there is just not enough room to put adiquate speakers in. Most everyone these day are using external sound systems any ways ,so not a big deal. Love the tv and would most definity purchase one again!
Pros: Bright display, Durable, Realistic color, Lightweight

Fantastic picture

The model UN46C8000XF LED 46" has an excellant picture. However, I had to return my first one within 30 days because it had little red lines appearing in faces and in the background. My brand new one has an excellant picture that I had seen in the showroom. I just hope the reliability is as good as my 32" Sony which is still going strong after 15 years.

The best LED TV on the market

I've had the TV for 30 days now and it is fabulous. A great picture with great features. I'm enjoying allshare and all of the internet apps.

Narrow viewing angle

I chose this TV because of the stunning image quality, functionalities and multiple inputs (4 HDMI, 1 components, 1 composite...) I must say overall, I'm really happy with the TV, for this reasons:
GOOD:
- Awesome image quality exactly in the center viewing position
- Picture processing options to do whatever you like with it
- Game mode that turns off all image processing for a great gaming experience (I'm a hardcore gamer, play a lot of First Person Shooters and although I read some bad reviews about this model in this matter, I have to say I'm quite happy with the performance in Game Mode)
- Customized image settings for each input
- Samsung Apps, which allows us to watch Netflix movies (provided you are subscribed) directly from the TV and listen to Pandora music, as long as you hook up your TV to your internet connection, via cable (RJ-45) or wireless (purchasing the Samsung wireless adapter recommended for this TV)

However, I'd underline these (in my opinion) negative points for those who may want to know before purchasing:
NOT THAT GOOD:
- The quality of the image DECREASES DRAMATICALLY when you move to both sides of the perfect front viewing position. 30º to any side will be enough to start seeing the image milky, losing more color depth and brightness the more you move. I watch TV 10 feet away in the center and the picture quality is just fantastic, but 2 seats to the left in my couch will start making the viewing experience poorer. Honestly, I didn't expect this in such an expensive LED TV.
- The sound is poor. I understand the TV is so thin it's impossible to mount nice speakers, but this sound is only ok if you're not demanding at all with sound quality. The two speakers and the woofer will make the sound just fair.
- I know this might be just bad luck, but all four HDMI inputs broke 5 months after the purchase. Nothing could be hooked up in using them. Good that Samsung's tech service took care of it, came and replaced the mainboard under warranty to fix it.

Overall, this TV is a fantastic one, with an outstanding picture quality IF you don't move very much away from the perfect central viewing position. If you do, or many people is watching it on a regular basis wide spread, you might want to think about other TVs with a much wider viewing angle.
About the image enhancing options, know that for some people, having the option that makes image movement smoother, makes you feel "strange" when watching movies and certain series, because it gets "life-like", close to live TV, not like in a theater, 24 frames/second. You might want to turn this option off when watching movies.
About the sound, like many people with this kind of slim TVs, you might want to add an external surround sound system in order to get a decent sound for movies, gaming and even TV.

Cons: narrow viewing angle for perfect picture, poor speakers

Outstanding picure detail

After one month it suddenly lost brillance. Contrast was on 80 backlite on 16 and it had a bright beautiful picture,suddenly contrast dropped so low that some shows are too dark to watch. Had to turn up contrast and backlite as high as they will go and picture still dark which of course affects the color quality. This is the second set i have had and they both have the same problem.

What a great surprise it was when I got this television home and began to discover all of the technological features. Also it was surprisingly easy to set up and use those features. This is "Smart Technology" in every sense of the experience!

picture in picture issues

First off, I seriosuley can't belive that the Picture In Picture only has two inputs (Air/Cable). My 5 year old samsung TV has so many more options. Overall, the picture is amazing and I still cant get my hands on a pair of 3D glasses because it's a 2010 model.
Pros: Bright display, Inexpensive, Realistic color
Cons: picture in picture (pip)
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Very Good Overall Performance & Features

I am overall very happy with this tv. Unfortunately, after having it for 1 week, a stuck / dead red & blue pixel appeared & currently still remain. I contacted Samsung support & was pleasantly surprised by how quick & responsive they were to solving my problem. Scheduled service technician for in home service. Technician came and determined that the lcd panel needed to be replaced. Currently just waiting for the part to arrive to the technician so he can replace the part. I'm a little concerned about the actual repair. Basically, they are going to replace the entire lcd screen. I don't really know how difficult this is, but it seems to me like it would be a pretty significant repair. I don't want my brand new tv to be damaged cosmetically or functionally. I guess I will just have to wait and see the outcome. But, I do feel confident that if there is a problem, Samsung will remedy it.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Realistic color, Lightweight
Cons: no external 3d ir sensor connection
