[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Actually, this is my second - I bought the larger Holmes unit and liked it so much I bought a second. Electrostatic air cleaners don't get rid of the allergens - they just make them stick to the walls or fall to the floor. A HEPA unit (like the Holmes) catches allergens and removes them from circulation.
The big pluses - large HEPA filter surface area, large air movement, and reasonable replacement filter prices.
HI, I bought my Holmes air purifier 3-29-2013. I like it very much, really works well. It stopped working and I did troubleshooting and it still does not work. Right were the controls are is a yellow spot and it is warm in that spot(not hot ) I can put my hand on it and it does not burn me but just warm. I don't know if I should get rid of it and buy a new one. I really like it and I would get another one just like it..I guess I just need somebody to tell me what to do with it. Thank You Susan Bridges
I have had mine about 5 years now, thing still works! As others have mentioned, it takes 3 Hepa filters and 3 charcoal filters. Umm they are and have been somewhat costly to replace, but as an asthmatic its just part of the cost of doing business. I do recommend it, as long as you don't mind almost buying a new one for the cost of filters.
This is my second one and the same model. The first worked for over 12 years with no issues and i love it. The motor got really hot and my cat got me up and i could tell it was over heating. I used it everyday for at least 8 hours a day. Thank you for a great product. My new one arrives saturday and i have been lost without it. It is great for white noise too. Traci L Davis San Diego Ca
I have had this unit almost 2 years--maybe longer-. Never any problem getting filters ordering on line & usually can get in on a sale of some sorts. Yes it is frustrating at times when I forget to order ahead instead of running out locally--but that's my problem. Thanks Holmes. Good service
