In a nutshell, this is the next version of the UN55B7000 from 2009 with 2010 upgrades. The best thing is that the uneven backlighting and leaking light at the corners complaints from last year have been fixed! The backlighting on this tv is exceptionally uniform and I have yet to see leaking in any corner under any circumstances. As a regular 2d tv it performs extremely well, and even the off-axis viewing angle is very good. The internet connectivity for content and for firmware updates is a great feature. The remote control is very well laid out, sturdy, and nicely backlighted. The setup directions suppled with the tv make it very easy to get it up and running in no time. Set it to home mode when it first asks you to and the picture only needs a little tweaking to be just right. I bought it as a superb all-around 2d tv with the ability to do 3d as the content becomes available. So far, I am delighted and have not found any flaws of any kind.

1. needs built in wireless
2. should include the audio adapter.
3. the auto-motion still does not smooth out the action but maybe some more tweaking will help.
4. 3D still has blurs in background.
overall, good product but should be a $300-400 cheaper.

Amazing TV after calibration

I have had the UN55C7000 now for a few days. Because the default settings are designed to sell in stores it needs serious attention. The picture at first is so sharp and clear its very hard to get used to. Its like watching a soap opera or through a video camera. Difficult to explian but over sharp. So with the provided settings that i recommend will resolve this problem. If I could wish for more I would add that I would like to have a network media streamer built in. I am not talking about the included DLNA media capability but like adding an AC Ryan component in. I guess thats not a big deal. Secondly, setting up the Samsung Apps on the TV is not as clear or straight forward as I had wished.

Beyond belief!

Out of the box perfect picture, no blurry pictures ever again. Television will never be the same again. I have reserved my review until I have actulally viewed a live 3 D broadcast thanks to Direct TV. (Word Cup). Beyond my expectations ok let me stop about the picture quality. What about the other features...Such as applications...Out of this world.. PC share etc.etc. I know some people have complained about the wireless link...rightfully so, rather than gripe about it..it does work. The Wireless link created a little problem about 2 months, I lost TV sound. I did the built in sound test and it worked. Disconnected the network and blu ray and Cable box , home theater and reset the router still had the same problem. Once I disconected the wireless link and re-installed it the sound was restored. This was not the TV fault.
The only other minor thing I could say , maybe I have not figured out yet would be adjusting the tv when the scene is extremely is dark. Maybe I am having too much fun watching the TV to I figure it out. I am really not a Tv person because I work two jobs...But I cannot stay away from this TV. (smile) Great product !

Gorgeous TV with one handicap

This TV is gorgeous with lush color and sound. One drawback is "NonFunctional Subtitles" for watching channels. This minimizes its helpfulness to People like me with a very severe hearing impairment even with hearing aids. Samsung should take into consideration of senior consumers who are in great need for Subtitle display'

Frickin' awsome man

Bought it, opened it, had it up and running with my home stereo sysytem and a new Samsung bluray DVD player in less than 2 hours. The TV/DVD took over when I started them up and they linked up with my wireless internet, gave me intertnet options, viewing options, it even located my PC and linked with it. We could not believe the clarity, the bright picture and the amazing picture we got. My wife was skeptical before the purchase, but after one or two minutes she looked at me and said "thank you, that is the best TV or movie picture I have ever seen." We went right out and rented a bluray disc and were again blown away by the ease of use, the clarity and "pop" of the picture we were getting. I would give this all my thumbs up for ease of set up, amazing picture and unbelievable features, Thank you Samsung, you made a beliver out of me. docharris

This tv is only missing a few things

Great tv. The picture is great for an edge lit tv. There is some light that shines through on the corners but It does not affect the picture. I'm sure it might annoy all the hardcore plasma people and anyone who is considering the 8500 series. But it has 3d and the 8500 doesnt. The colors are stunning and the clarity is great. The major downside for me is lag in game mode. 240hz does nothing in game mode. In fact, it cant even be turned on. It does help the response time slightly with it off but my wife even noticed the lag with game mode on. There is also a reflection in daylight so this tv isnt any better than a plasma in that regard. The colors are bright enough to make it watchable though. I wish i could have waited for the 9000 series but not for over double the price. this tv is one of the best I've seen in its price range. Its a plasma competitor for sure
