No doubt that the 2 top panels are Samsung and Panasonic. I went the Samsung route and am not disappointed. The picture is incredible (bright, detailed, sharp, and blacks are BLACK). My wife loves all the features and apps (I like them too). I like how they hook up to my media server (although it doesn't support the Windows recorded TV format, but who does besides Microsoft). People who come over comment on how sharp the picture is. You can see better detail out of this 55" than any other larger panel. I can't wait till Samsung makes this in a 70". I will only buy Samsung panels now on.
Oh, regarding the 3D... I can't comment too much as I don't really use it. It's more of a gimmick that every maker has to sell 3D TVs and camcorders now... Really, who sits with their family and watches normal TV in 3D glasses... If you like it and use it, it is still a good 3D TV, but I got this for the 2D quality.
I actually wanted a smaller TV and my wife convinced me to get this one. Uhh.. okay! Being a geek of sorts I'm usually pretty thorough about my searches and purchases but, the prospect of something bigger I couldn't pass up. Fortunately for me, the Samsung UN55C7000WF 55" 7000 Series 3D 1080p LED HDTV turned out to be an awesome purchase of which a year later we and every vistor we have are still in awe of it's performance. The refresh rate, vivid colors, and brightness makes everything pop as if the real thing was right in front of you. It doesn't hurt that I have Netflix and Hulu available at the touch of the remote without having to use a medium such as a PS3, XBox, Wii, etc. and, we can view any 3D content released to date. I would recommend this TV to any level of user looking for performance and affordability.
Cons: smart tv s/w not upgradable to current version
I would recommend this to a friend!

Amazing picture quality. The Ecosensor that dims based on light intensity in the room is marvellous and an invention that drew me to owning this product!
have only had this tv for about a week but i am very impressed with the picture quality. hi def looks amazing but the one thing that i was pleasantly suprised about was how well this tv does at upconverting standard def signal. most tvs are horrible at that but this one pulls it quite nicely. i would definitely recommend this to a friend!
