It's roomy and a fairly efficient use of the available space. The freezer could be more roomy. The bottom drawer sometimes causes the freezer to not close. You have to be careful not to have anything impeding the the upper shelf in the freezer. There seems to be an odor coming from the condenser/ fan unit that sometimes fills the fridge. I believe it is the lubricant or something that causes the smell, but I haven't tried to remedy it yet.

I find it much handier to have the liquids and foods higher in the frig. We access the frig area much more often than the freezer. Great product!

Product Defrost repaired at 1 1/2 years old.

Difficult to access defrost panel, had to dismantle freezer section. Scematic was taped under refrigerator and not visible. Took 2 repair men to put it back together and several hours.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Fantastic Fridge!

I previously had a similar refrigerator, which was a Maytag. I loved it, but it stayed when I sold my house. I was thrilled when I found this Whirlpool Gold model. It is actually larger than the Maytag I had, and I love the pull-out freezer door as opposed to the side swing one that is on many models. I can't hear this appliance running at all, and the energy star rating reminds me that I'm not wasting energy. The black (I'll call is "crackle") finish is luxurious and leaves absolutely no fingerprints. If you have an opportunity to purchase this refrigerator, do it. You will have a huge cubic foot capacity at a small CFC price.
