No ice maker on the door was the attraction for me

So far it's been a good refrigerator / freezer. I'm still getting used to having the freezer on the bottom, coming from a traditional refrigerator / freezer.

This refrigerator is actually less cubic feet than my old one, which I was afraid would be a problem, but because of the design it's actually much more useful and seems larger than my old one. I can get so much more in it and actually see everything in it much easier, which means I will be wasting less food in the back of the refrigerator. My last one was a side by side. Now that I've got this design, I will never own another side by side.My only complaint is that the handle on the freezer drawer comes off too easily. We keep having to snap it back on, which is easily done, but I would be happier if it just stayed on. I'm not sure if it was just done wrong by the guys who delivered and set it up. I need to read the owner's manual to see if there is a more permanent way to attach it.

Other than being absolutely reliable, it has convenient features. There have been absolutely no problems with this Whirlpool. We have really enjoyed it.

We love our Whirlpool! The glass shevles and see-through drawers allows us to keep track of what food is being stored. It is very quiet. The only sound we notice is when the water briefly runs for the icemaker or the ice drops in the bucket. My 6 ft. husband especially likes the refrigerator part at the top so that he doesn't have to bend over to find things. The bottom freezer drawer pulls out easily and has a flat divided shelf at the top by the ice cube tray and a large divided basket allowing me to easily organize frozen foods. An extra bonus feature is that the stainless steel front is actually magnetic! The black sides are very complimentary to the stainless. Our Whirlpool Gold has been a great improvement in our kitchen!
