poor layout for freezer and handle falls off all the time bu

We purchased this refrigerator 2 months ago and it does keep things cold and the freezer keeps things frozen however the handle on the freezer falls off multiple times each day. Still looking into that one. The freezer storage is much smaller than the refrigerator this unit replaced even though the unit we had had smaller capacity by 8cubic feet. The bottom freezer is a nice idea but I am not sure that anyone has come up with a good design yet because what you really end up with is something akin to a tiny chest freezer that you are always digging through to find things. The layout and features of the refrigerator section is somewhat better but having a drawer that needs to stay just above eye level or give up an entire shelf is not a good trade off (the deli drawer really can't be moved down low enough to see into unless you are willing to eliminate the shelf be low it as usable space. I am 5'8" and I can't imagine what a pain this must be for anyone shorter. Over all the space could definitely be used better. In general we purchased this model over others because of the company's track record of few repairs. So far so good except for the handle on the freezer.

Love the two doors, top and bottom. Side by side isn't my style.Loads of room for veggies and drinks. Freezer is great, pull out drawers. Extremely satisfied. Thanks Whirlpool! Although, the sound is a little loud but maybe it is because I have a tile floor.

I really like the bottom freezer and top refrigerator where majority of opening & closing takes place. The appliance repairman I've been using for years recommended Whirlpool & I took his advice. Glad I did.

Disappointment

Researched the models and based on reviews chose this unit. After the first year, the unit runs 24 hours a day and the freezer section constantly freezes over. I have to take this thing apart to get it functional again.Always had been a Whirlpool (and associated brands), but this one stinks!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This refrigerator was the best thing I've bought in years,love it,it looks good,acts great and is my favorite thing in the kitchen now,plenty of space inside ,the bottom freezer my favorite ,easy to get to and again plenty of room ....LOVE IT!!!

The feature we like is the smaller ice cubes - much better for use in blender than previous ice maker's output.The two apparent design flaws: 1. The ongoing noise is significantly more than we were used to, and 2. the vegetable / fruit bins come off their rails way too easily and often; this is very irritating and disappointingQuestion: Is there a way to purchase one or two more insert shelves to go in the refrigerator door? We seem to have significant unused area on the door.

The only reason i marked good in the design is in regard to the ice cube tray. It is too small and you have to lift the lever and turn it off before you can slide the drawer out to get ice. If the ice tray were longer, you could just reach in and get them. We love the refrigerator.
