Very disappointed with number of repairs
on December 27, 2023
Posted by: Marg92
Looks great but started having issues with leaking water out the front. The GE appliance man told me there is a plug in the back of the refrigerator at the bottom with a stop inside which constricts the flow of water and consequently overflows. If I only knew. That solved my problem. Then we lost power from a wind storm and my refrigerator was not circulating cool air. We determined from online that the fan stopped operating in the refrigerator, so that needed to be replaced. Also, the freezer seal was coming loose at the bottom lower sides and bottom...needed to buy adhesive to repair. This may have contributed to ice buildup behind bottom draw. Very disappointed with this product.

Water Leaks on Floor
on July 16, 2024

We have also had issues of the freezer not properly defrosting and resulting in ice building up and leaking on the floor in front of the freezer/refrigerator. I want to replace the defrost heater rod, which I think may be the problem, but I can not find what the appropriate part number is to order. Could you please provide that information, and even provide a new one for free since the unit is not that old? Thank you, and I look forward to hearing back from you ASAP since my freezer is in pieces in the kitchen as we speak.

Slate Counter Depth
on August 19, 2025

We purchased this model 9 years ago and out of the blue it quit working. I liked the slate color but apparently GE has discontinued this option. The only option available is that cheap looking stainless steel that dents easily and needs constant cleaning. The depth of this model was insufficient. A liquid was spilled and caught between the shelving and the drawers. I could not disassemble it to get it cleaned. I am so disappointed that I have to invest in another refrigerator in such a short period of time. GE used to be better than this.
