No Fan

According to the repairman that service our GE refrigerator (model #GYE22KMHES).the internal fan is unable or unreliable to perform in wet or damp conditions. Although the inside of a refrigerator is a wet or damp environment, the defect was not addressed prior to sale. It is my understanding that the refrigerator was not recalled because there were no reports of a fire caused by the fan defect. I assume someone ran the numbers and calculated it would be cheaper to fix the problem after the sale then to recall the model prior to sale. I am outraged that anyone would intentionally sell a structurally defective refrigerator. You subjected my wife and I to weeks of extreme stress dealing with everything required to troubleshoot and repair a brand new refrigerator.
We experienced problems within the first month. One morning I found frost on the deli drawer. Days later, a dozen eggs were found frozen. Deli meat and a number of cheeses were also ruined by freezing temperatures in the deli drawer. The sound of the motor was louder and running more often than one would expect from a newrefrigerator.
Then we had to go through the process of reporting our problem and scheduling a repair. After the fan was replaced, the repairman suggested we unplug the refrigerator for 24 hours to be sure there was no ice buildup. This was an unexpected request and we were not prepared, but we complied. Unplugging the refrigerator required our immediate time and energy as well as the premature use of frozen food and the loss of some delicate food that did not survive 24 hours in coolers.

I bought this two years ago and needed to replace fan in refrigerator today. The refrigerator meat drawer was freezing while the remainder of refrigerator was above 50 degrees F. I am not a happy customer.

Lots of space & lighting

This is the Best Refrigerator we have had. Very spacious, excellent lighting, good bins for veggies & fruit. Really enjoy the large bin for deli/meats/or liquids. Doors have good storage, even with the ice dispenser located in it. Great water/ice on outside, it has large capacity to fit all types of containers. Freezer drawer gas tons of room with 2 big bins that each have an adjustable divider. And Tate added touch of the little flip tray for boo ice packs, freeze-dried herbs etc. 2draw back: does not come with a closed butter top bin nor egg container or holder. Really missing that from my now garage fridge :(

Bright and cheery interior; love-the-slate color

As we went from store to store looking for a French-door refrigerator, I noticed how messy the stainless steel appliances appeared. Then, I found a slate appliance that I decided would contrast nicely to my new white cupboards. The depth is something I had hoped to be less in than my former fridge. But, overall I am pleased with product and the support I have received from GE!

Color is what we were looking for.

We chose this refrigerator because of the color (slate). Since GE is the only company that has this color, we had no other option. The color is what we wanted. However, the water drips after using the water dispenser. The icemaker is noisy and the refrigerator is noisy when running.

No butter shelf, fruit & veg bins small

Overall the refrigerator is big enough for our food, but the vegetable & fruit bins are quite small so I have to put some fruits & vegetables in other places in the frig. There is not a good spot for a butter dish, so I wound up storing it on the door with other foods.
